I'm 7 months late to the video, but this is something that have crossed my mind multiple times, as I have the described reactions, but only under specific circumstances. I've narrowed down what I suspect is my own traumatic event, but the problem is I'm not through it yet, as the people who caused it, are the same people I rely on to pay for the help I need in order to learn living on my own with ASD. I can work completely fine, but I often forget to eat, so I need special support to help me remember to eat (as a consequence of this, I am also severely underweight. It used to be worse, where I could neither maintain a home, but I have learned that now, despite it taking me 7 years to do so. Anyways, I'm a Dane and the people who pay for my help, is the municipality of my home town. Problem is that they're extremely hard to talk with about any kind of help and worry more about their financial sheets, than the people they're supposed to help. Thus I have to fight for retaining my help once every year and thus I cannot escape this trauma, before I've fully learned to live on my own, as I cannot afford to pay for the help myself (the price is twice a normal salary, every single month.
What I know is, that whenever I go into a debate in person, I immediately perceive it as a fight and I have to do my best to restrain myself from yelling at people and becoming aggressive. It's extremely exhausting, so I often just avoid debates in person. Online is different and I can take my time with responses, so I don't have to come up with something immediately, in order to win the fight. It's the same thing in arguments and more passionate discussions with others, hence why I also avoid socializing too much. It's too exhausting having to stop myself from going into fight or flight mode, every time I have a passionate conversation with someone.
I also know that I constantly fear the municipality stops paying out of the blue, so I lose my help and is forced to move out of my home, as I cannot afford the rent myself at the present moment. Furthermore, I also constantly fear that they are somehow listening in to my conversations and that I am being surveyed 24/7, because they have previously grabbed information about me illegally and used it against me, so I have all curtains pulled out 24/7 and both my microphone and webcam is disconnected from my PC. They may see what I browse, but they ain't gonna get no audio or video from me.
I do though try to avoid all thoughts about them, but that is kinda hard, given how much I still need them and I also recognize the Negative changes in thoughts mood part, as I am pretty quick to judge people with authority on their actions compared to their words, where even a single mistake can be enough for my respect for them to plummet or even go away entirely, causing me to directly and indirectly attack them verbally on things they say, all because I've experienced authorities letting me down on their promises to me, time and time again, for a whole 15 years now. This has also led me to avoid calling people at all costs. I've been promised so many things via phone calls and in person promises, which have led to nothing but hot air, so now I simply don't trust it, if it isn't in written form. I straight up hate talking with people on the phone and I dread whenever I have to make a phone call, even if it's just a casual, normal call to a family member. I'd much rather write instead. It's safe and I know exactly what has been said and what hasn't. This does though cause major problems for me right now, as I'm trying to get an apprenticeship as a cabinet maker and the field almost exclusively relies on phone calls. The very thing I try to avoid at all costs.
Worst of all though, is that I cannot get an answer to any of this. There are simply not enough qualified professionals in Denmark to take a look at someone who functions as great as I do. The psychiatric area has experienced less and less funding for the past 32 years, so there's really only space for people who are a direct danger to themselves and/or their surroundings. Everyone else cannot be helped as of right now, meaning whatever problems we may have, are problems we are forced to allow growing worse and worse, until we reach the afore mentioned point of extremely debilitating problems. I hope the recently agreed on deal from the government, about increasing funding to the Psychiatric area, will make it possible for me to get the answers I seek, so I can get the help to stabilize myself properly, as I suspect that one of the major reasons it takes me this long, is because I cannot get professional help to treat the underlying, repeated trauma of 15 years and ongoing.

And i do also struggle from anxiety. At school i am so scared to use the bathrrom i only ask 2 times or 1 because one day we had a lockdown drill and someone was in the bathroom she came out terrified after it was done even tho it wasnt me im still terrified. And one time we were on Secure perimeter and i went to the bathroom and the second i heard the intercom i ran out of the bathroom to class so scared that it was a lockdown this was in the middle of the year. I have never seen a therapist and i get angry very fast im always so scared. And one day my brother was watching a video and eating and then he started to chock so now when my mom leaves and my brothers hungry i have my older brother go down and if their asleep i say no to him. I am so scared while walking my dog outside i run inside the second i see a car. Those are my stories
Someone please tell me if i should see a therapist or if i might have ptsd and one question do you get a eervice dog for ptsd to calm you down? And if you do get one can you take it to school please reply someone edit: and whenever i am in a room alone im terrified and if my mother walks away in a store for a few second i run to her with a severe panic attack even if i took a wring turn and notice right after
So should i see a therapist and see if i need a service dog? And i know i asked this already but can you take it to school? And if you cant i would still be terrified

[VENT, TW: SA] It happened 4 years ago and I finally told my parents. He still lives with us even tho I told my parents I don't feel comfortable nor safe in the house anymore. My mom asked him what are you thinking of doing? Either find a job, get closer to God, stop playing video games, leave or I dunno what else His response was at the moment I don't know but I'll figure it out. He stays inside his room everyday not doing anything and goes out with friends even tho my parents said they were going to ground him. He's allowed to go out, but not me. :/ He doesn't cook, he doesn't clean, he gets to take naps and sleep for half the day and he doesn't take care of the dogs. All he does is play video games meanwhile I'm stuck having to do everything. I just don't understand.
I feel like an angry spirit. Still roaming around the house angrier than before because there hasn't been any justice. I still have to live with the person who ruined physical contact with my dad, whom I love very much. I still have to live with the person that has caused me to relive that day every time something triggers the memory. I have to live with the person that promised me he wasn't going to do it again only for me to find out he still wants to continue doing that. I hate him. I despise him. My parents don't understand my anger and that is killing me. I told my mom that I don't want to live in the same house as him but she still has him here. I don't want to live in this house anymore. I have very clear signs of PTSD. So either he leaves or I leave, but I don't know where to go since I'm a minor.

im questioning how bad my trauma is im pretty sure i have trauma. heres the story advice is welcome!
i was around 8 when me and my mum came home one night and found our front door smashed and glass everywhere my mum grabbed me and shoved me in the car. we drove a little down the street and called the police. they didnt come(someone did but the police came 3 days later) we stayed in a hotel that night my dad came too as he was at work when me and my mum got home we stayed in the hotel 3 days and when we had to go home i was scared and cried begging not to go back but we couldnt stay in a hotel forever so we went home. i wouldnt go anywhere by myself for years EVEN THE BATHROOM!
im now a teenager and this fear still looms behind me. if i hear any unusual noises i hide. if i need to go somewhere threw the house i run worried someone is there. if i see a weird shadow that slightly resembles a human in the house i runaway to my safe spot i sleep fully under the pillows and blankets so i wont be seen.
writing this makes me realise how bad this sounds

my brother had to get rushed to the hospital in our cramped car at only a few days old because he wasnt getting enough breast milk from my mom because she has scar tissue in her breasts, and now i have flashbacks and panic attacks when i see someone throw up, hear someone throw up, someone seems as if they are gonna throw up or are nauseous, and sometimes even just think about it or think about something throwing up, i have a panic attack, my vision goes blurry, i disassociate, sometimes i cry, sometimes i can hold in the tears, i get choked up and my heart starts beating fast, and i get flashbacks of what happened. it really sucks because it makes me not want to be around kids if theyre sick, and makes me want to avoid places that have things that spin around fast, in fear of someone throwing up. ive asked my parents to get me therapy and they said they will soon, but i have a long trip coming up soon, so i probably wont be able to get any therapy until about mid august.

Ive worked as a news cameraman for almost 20 years. I have seen some pretty horrible things. Sometimes multiple horrible things in the same shift. I have never had any therapy at all. I normally went home to bed and never discussed some of the horrible things I saw that night. This went on for 18 years, until about 8 months ago. My personality changed and I became more easily agitated, depressed, withdrawn and socially isolated. After a major blowout one night (nothing happened, just lots of yelling and swearing) I started seeing a psychologist who diagnosed me with PTSD. Luckily where I live Workers Compensation recently designated work-related PTSD as a covered condition. I have been in therapy for 7 months now. It is a very slow process and some things are not progressing as fast as Id like. Im still self-isolating too much. Anyway, Im on the mend. This video made me want to share my situation with others. Something I dont do alot. Thanks for listening.

Avoidance, startled or jumpy, cautious of surroundings, yes. so if this is caused by ongoing minths of a very difficult (traumatic) situation (months of dealing with a loved one having a manic episode, could that cause PTSD? Being in a car with them driving 90 mph, dealing with then being irritable or being a jerk, sleep interrupted everynight, interrogating your friends or every relationship you have that they know of ( such as himilating you, showing up at your friend's work or saying bad things about you to others, being accused of being an fbi agent or being an undercover, bipolarizing the house so the place is a wreck and you can't find anything around the house (including your own things. Dude, he moved my trombone 5 tines in one day, dealing with his mom and sister living with us for a month, moving to a friend's place for a few months. months of this adds up after awhile.

Ive been noticing too often lately Ill catch a whiff of something that smells like a medication I took as I was first getting horrible nausea and being unable to eat. I cant handle it and its in random places. A few days ago it was at a college tour and today it was in my kitchen. I feel that anxiety tightening of the chest and the tears as Im taken back to those days. I luckily just came out of the bathroom so my hands had the soap smell on them so I could distract myself with the smell of soap instead of the triggering one. I also cannot eat instant potatoes since that was the first food I attempted to eat after the nausea started and its so revolting and scary to even smell in my house.
This nausea wasnt just a stomach bug. It was unexplained and nearly killed me last year. If I wasnt hospitalized I wouldnt be here to comment this. So its very traumatic that smell.

I was diagnosed (not in the DSM so it's not official official) with c-ptsd from growing up with an autistic sibling. People always talk about abuse by parents as being shouted at or physically hurt by them, but for me it was my sibling doing that and my parents always choosing his side and telling me to apologize. I know they acted out of ignorance, but I'm left going to therapy for 10+ years not knowing what was wrong. I'm so angry at them, even though I know they tried the best in a difficult situation. I'm not talking to my mother and sibling and I know it's hurting them but I just need to get out for my own wellbeing. I just don't know what to do, but my therapist recommended EMDR and I've heard good things about that so I'm hopeful. I can't and don't want to share this with my parents, so I'm sharing it here. Thank you for reading.

I'm a product of generational truma. My childhood was horrific it follows me to this day. I was diagnosed with PTSD and Borderline personality disorder all due to my childhood. I'm still a work in progress but I am getting help unlike the previous generations in my family. POC were never offered help back then. To this day a lot of the mindset is past it away or a very negative connection to the medical field. Understandably so. I've witnessed things myself of the unfair treatment before I found a mental health Dr that LISTENED without bias. But I degrees.
I also don't have kids because if I'm not OK how can I be OK for my children? I don't want to accidently MENTALLY harm them unknowingly. This is something people need to realize before having children. Break the cycle.

surrounding yourself with good ppl with good habits and you will develop better habits too if you're surrounded by bad ppl with bad habits you will develop bad habits too you can develop better habits surrounded by ppl with bad habits but it takes a great effort and will power to keep doing good things when everyone around you is up to no good. it may seem as though the benefits of having to work so hard are not coming your way but you must be patient it can take years to recover from a major setback and more years to build a plan and more years after employing that plan to finally accomplish the goals you thought were lost because of the major setback. i never thought i'd ever work the jobs i've worked in the past decade but i did and i still am.

Not sure if I have ptsd or not but I think I might
Pretty sure it stems from me having to deal with so many of my friends and people that I knew wanting to commit and me having to help them and be with them which isn't a bad thing but I was a child comforting teenagers and my own friends
Now when anyone brings up the idea of then committing or even mentions the word I can't breathe, start sweating, vision goes blurry, crying, shaking so hard I feel like im convulsing, feel faint, etc etc to the point where I have to get my phone away from me and close my eyes so that everything's black sometimes ill even throw on an eye mask and play classical music
Hopefully I can get diagnosed soon if my parents take me seriously this time

I was burned alive when i was 3years old. i still remember everything from pain to the screaming of me /my grandmother/ and my cousin. i have a deep feat of feat and whenever i see someone burn alive in a movie or in a game or even when i read it. i start to breathe really hard and generally fall in tears and in a deep state of panic. live the accident again. and again. and again. when i see hear or read that. But the worst is the sleep paralysis where i see my grandmother/cousin accusing me for surviving and they didn't. i see the fire progressing and i see theal and hear screaming. i hate that i hate that ptsd.

I have been in multiple minor car accidents, because of that Im always terrified and on edge whenever Im in a car. Ive also had sensory overloads that were so scary that they left me traumatized. For example, once I was on vacation in Las Vegas and I had a meltdown and now Im anxious in public spaces. I was also severely bullied a lot in elementary school, it left a huge impact on my self esteem and whenever someone raises their voice or throws something I get a flashback. My family thinks Im just being dramatic and bratty, so I cant get diagnosed. Despite that, Im pretty convinced that I MIGHT have PTSD.

I needed money to take a girl out, so i quickly got a job working as an undertaker is what they call it in america i think. Sometines i remember the corpses face whom I helped to move her from her death place to the morge. sometimes i remember her face vividly and feel extreme feelings of anxiety and terror i feel like shes near me. sometimes If im for example walking around at night maybe i smell that same smell come from thin air! do i have ptsd or what, i need help understanding. Also i must mention after i got money the girl broke up with me when i told her do you think this makes it worse also?

What if you never dream?
I have never had a so called dream in my entire life. Like people have described to me.
I go to sleep and its just a black landscape. Its as if I have died.
Serveral times I have felt my heart jump start itself. With pounding thuds.
Maybe thats why I aint afraid to die. I virtually die every night when I go to sleep. Dont remember a damn thing the next morning. It literally takes me an hour to figure stuff out.
Just completely disassociated from reality each morning.
Maybe I am a zombie? Lazarus, reincarnated!

After surviving a traumatic event, many people have PTSD-like symptoms at first, such as being unable to stop thinking about what's happened. Fear, anxiety, anger, depression, guilt all are common reactions to trauma. However, the majority of people exposed to trauma do not develop long-term post-traumatic stress disorder. Getting timely help and support may prevent normal stress reactions from getting worse and developing into PTSD. This may mean turning to family and friends who will listen and offer comfort.

Oh danke! my comrade. he came back from conflicts in the middle east. and helped protect the peace keepers and what not. I was uncertain if he just grew up, or was tired. but i assumed something was wrong. And before this i tried many times to ask him. he would shrug it off as being tired. now watching this video, I got him the needed help. I was barely able to help him, only because i read English's from this video! Thank you, and keep working hard! Cheers from Germany!

I feel like I do have ptsd since I got in a accident 2 years ago, causing me to never go on my bike, walk with my hands out, cry whenever I see blood ect. It caused me a irrational fear of blood but whenever I tell anybody, they say I'm dramatic. I have pretty bad anxiety but I have gotten better through your videos, support and not having a terrible teacher.
to anyone experiencing ptsd from trauma, I hope it gets better because I know it's hard.

I came home and found my girlfriend of 6 years lying on the dining room floor after having shot herself. It was gruesome sight, but who I saw was more traumatic than what I saw. I'm only looking up symptoms of PTSD to try to figure out why I don't have it after seeing something like that. Or maybe it's something that will come over time. I don't want it obviously, but I fear there may be something more wrong with me if I don't

I found my mom dead around 3 years ago. It was on my birthday at that. I stood there and watched the paramedics attempting to revive her, giving her CPR. I never have been able to let it go, i think of it every day. Every time i see a ambulance, especially when it has its lights going or early in the morning it all comes back. I have no idea if its PTSD or what - my life just hasn't been the same since.

Went through a real shitty time, so many things happened that really impacted me and I went months feeling to blame and ashamed of myself, while either avoiding or snapping at the people I loved most. I understand now that I do not want to continue my patterns of behavior and I'm going to dedicate a portion of everyday for the next 6 to 8 months to working on this in myself. hopefully, I'll get it done

Everyone here have some kind of trauma. I don't have it (i think) i felt like everything happened with me is normal. But then physical symptoms started to come. The way i get scared so easily i hate it. I would come out as very violent person which im not. Evn in sleeps i felt disturbed. My parents blame me when i get scared. Its not my fault, mom. It just happens to the point I don't have control

I'm not diagnosed with PTSD but i do believe i have it. i experience all of the symptoms noted, and it's really bugging me. It's been over 4 years since my traumatic incident and my family still jokes around about it. i still don't understand why they do it but everytime they bring it up i always get sweaty and shaky, then i start stuttering when i talk. i really wish this didn't happen to me.
