Whether its to inform, to persuade, or to entertain, everyone has tried public speaking. We shudder at those memories. Weve all been t Commander: I don't realy comprehend why I have fear of public speaking. I don't care about the opinion/judgement of dear friends or strangers ( I'm a bit of an anti-social. Yet when I do public speaking I forget how to read/speak in English and get cold & sweaty. Also this used to happen when it was playing piano on stage. Now it is wayyyy less bad but I still have higher chances of messing up. I don't understand why this happens to me even though I don't care about judgement of others, I only care about my own. It doesn't make sense. Do y'all know what it could be?

I don't fear speaking really, it's playing violin and singing that I'm so freaked out about. Even two people can some times be enough for me to be scared that I fail, but when I'm singing, I need pretty big audience to have fear of failing. It's because I've been told many many times that I sing too high, and that is why I don't really sing anymore

I have to do a presentation in 3 days. I'm being recorded and I suck at public speaking. Some people say they can't hear me and I sound strange on speaking on camera, every single one of my classmates are allowed to look at each others videos. I use to not even speak when I had to present in first grade. Someone wish me luck please I'm nervous

Teacher: so who has the answer for (insert something)
Me: raises hand high and confidently
Teacher picks me
Me on the outside: calmly answers like a normals person
Me on the inside: heart is beating, legs are weak, about to have a panic attack, CODE RED CODE RED

Public speaking didn't bother me much until I took a class about it in college. Isn't it suppose to be the other way around? Something about concentrating on the subject or the professor just made me so much more anxious. Its been that way for 5 years.

even though this is something that i can work through and overcome, i've learned that this has become way too much for me to handle. i don't want to keep living my life in fear. i will never get through this and that's why i've chosen to just simply end it.

Wait. but last time I gave a speech, my breathing suddenly became rapid, shallow and irregular. I couldn't say anything and ended up breaking down in tears from both fear and the fact that I couldn't breathe and was losing oxygen. WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN
reply

I was waiting to hear something about controlling your breathing in the During a presentation part. It seems so simple but for many people controlling their breathe is what makes them fail. Once you control your breathe everything gets easier.

Here's a tip: if you've a speech impediment and/or the charisma off a soiled Playboy Mansion dishrag just avoid public speaking altogether. There are times at which murder becomes a public service that could net you the key to the city.
reply

These tips are very helpful, unless of course, you are so socially awkward and anxious that just the mention of class presentation makes you want to run for the hills. Oh wait, that's me
reply

You guys literally release videos days, weeks, months or years after when something I went through and need your videos back then alot, but solve said issues already. Still watch the videos anyhow
reply

Am. I the only person here whos a natural at it?
I mean, it depends on the crowd, though talking in font of new people might be unnerving at first but then it gets easier as I go on.

Thank you so much for this! After about, 1 week of exams, i have a speech competition. I've only participated in one before, which was in Urdu, and this one is in English. Wish me luck!

What about if that person has been going through a lot and then suddenly starts imagining a character from a video game and starts loving that person like that character is family
reply

Too bad this doesent help im prety sure i cant even walk into the room and if i was forced to present something to a class im prety sure i woud have a hart atack later

Can you make a video about toxic people? Like, how ro avoid them, or their traits? Or maybe to tell whether you have become a toxic person yourself? Thank you!
reply

When I do this, I start to shiver but I also start to sweat. Its a horrible feeling, does anyone else feel that? Its always when talking to someone(s) I dont know
reply

#3 and #5 you SAY stimulate but the written words say simulate. I think the written word simulate is whats intended. Please fix.

I actually do really well with public speaking. I just break the ice with some humour and then that gets me to feel really relaxed.
