The Cold War was a deadly game in the depths of the oceans. More than 20 collisions between American and Soviet submarines are only the tip of the iceberg as far as these secret operations are concerned. The underwater interface was perhaps the most merciless frontier between East and West. This documentary reveals previously unknown information from the military apparatus of both sides, and shows that submarines continue to be an important weapon in the espionage war even today

One final content. Opinions are just that. opinions are not fact! Sadly our media fake that bike I going to ship yards and speaking to unreliable sources that they are more informed than anyone else. They form erroneous opinions and present them as fact which does not serve the public interest! Those of us who have had the opportunity to learn the truth, but are bound by our security clearances to remain silent, are eternally frustrated by these types of irresponsible actions. The UPI source source is just playing wrong. His approach is wrong, and his conclusions, consequently, are wrong. By using supposed important titles this program attempts to mislead the viewer. They were unable to obtain input put from the sources who were able to obtain the truth or who were involved with the truth. However, we are bound by our clearances and our honor. Consequently, we are enabled to reveal the truth. However I am proud to say that that the average American only needs to look at the results. The Soviet Union imploded on its on the phone which was exactly exactly the right approach. I fear for the future because our current leaders leaders are arrogant are arrogant and ignorant ignorant of the realities of human existence. As result they will cause the opposite. Both in terms of national security and the environment. They have failed to learn basic scientific principles big principles and their versions of history could not be more faulty. When you live a lie, you reap a lie! They apparently believe by wasted my time obtaining numerous engineering degrees including my graduate work at Stanford University and a career working in research and as a consultant and adviser. They would rather listen to ignorant and arrogant fools.

I am in my 70's and philosophize about my life in my final decade. I have learned the following:
- People are basically good and don't want war. The upper levels of government are populated largely by psychopaths and narcissists; people with significant personality disorders. Their agenda is always an evil one with the goals of money and power.
- Wars are misguided solutions to political mismanagement and failures and megalomania. The men and women behind the curtains use wars to enrich themselves and manifest great political change that benefits the ruling class all at the expense of the masses.
- The fact that some constituents of the beltway can contemplate a nuclear exchange as being winnable are proof of my propositions
- Media propaganda can be used to effectively spin any desired narrative and the masses are inherently trusting of their government and very gullible. Patriotism is a tool that can be used to manage and manipulate the population.
- The rulers use education as a programming tool, to teach dogma, compliance, adherence to authority and service to the elites. Too much education in the masses is a liability and fosters critical thinking, independent analysis and other negative behaviors.

Skate class is NOT like Nautilus in size, armament, and reactors being S3W with Skate and Sargo and S4W in Swordfish and Seadragon, these were meant to be smaller size, less expensive, with both forward and stern torpedo tubes (6 & 2. Very near like Tench Class Darter only with a nuclear power plant. Halibut was also S3W in a Regulus missle boat design. Nautilus with S2W plant was longer, had no stern torpedo room, slightly more powerful and not as compact steam plant.

I was in submarine service from '83-2004 on two fast attack and three FBM boats. I'm still bound by security agreements, but invite anyone to read Blind Man's Bluff by Sherry Sontag and Christopher Drew. USN has ways to compartmentalize information so that no one person has the keys to the kingdom when it comes to classified information. I was stationed on two of the boats listed in this book. Can't divulge what we did, but the book gives a general overview.

The amount of money it takes to create something that can obliterate the planet in 45 minutes. ALL it takes is 3 boomers to cause worldwide deviation. Also I always say that DONT GIVE ACCESS to nuclear weapons to a person that doesn't have children or can't have children, just because of the statement that dude kept saying. there will be a nuclear war within the next five years. All because he lost HIS FAMILY.

Absolutely masterful documentary. Amazing stories, footage, and interviews! The story that sticks out to me is imagining myself in that submarine that rolled off a cliff and got stuck, the crew trying to rock it out from being stuck. Can you imagine the feeling on board and having to keep it together? Submariners are truly special breed. Thank you for this documentary.

It reminded me about what happened in South China Sea in 90s USA smash n broke one of the Chinese plane and blamed it on China while the USA plane survived by landing in China, Chinese plane lost in the sea the pilot died while all the USA pilots lives thats how USA treats Cold War allies which they think whos useless anymore. Thank god no war happened.

Just curious. what is the yank fascination with shortening everything, and what do you do with the milliseconds of time you save? Is it so that you can throw in ridiculous, useless statements like now that's what I'm talking about, right there, or go ahead (and do xyz as the case may be, amongst many, many other inanities?

22: 57 Maybe he was only illustrating a point, but Igor should know that one cannot necessarily know what caused a submarine to sink just by looking at its shell. Also, the Americans knew the ship had gone rogue so obviously they knew something of its whereabouts - that does not mean it was close enough to ram into it.

This is a loose collection of non cohesive stories that range from mildly interesting to boring. This documentary is clearly in need of an editor with even a modicum of Education. If you came here for insights into the Cold War you are wasting your time don't bother. There is zero in the way of insightful information.

I like hearing all these stories about what was going on during the Cold War and the lengths both sides went too to spy on each other. Whats crazy about these stories is this is just the stuff thats been declassified so I can only imagine all the things we dont know about that havent been declassified yet.

I took a tour on the Nautilus submarine, back in the 80's, that's docked in Connecticut. There were 2 navy guards, standing in front of the hatch, that leads to the reactor room. I said to the guards, the reactor is still classified, isn't it? They both nodded their heads yes.

I served 23 years on the boats, diesels, fast attacks and boomers. !955 to 1977. The diesels and fast attacks made lots of patrols to Vlad and Petro. It was exciting for a young man. The boomers were like going to sea in the Hilton but thinking of their purpose was scary.

transform the whole mass media by creating incidents. remember that my fellow Americans. the Democrats do this. but its painfully obvious. only dum dums who believe whatever those news outlets aligned with the Democrats, are unaware of this ploy.

If only the US has the same calibre of leadership as in those Cold War years instead of todays bumbling fools who focus on virtue signalling, giving the Chicoms a free reign in international piracy to pursue global supremacy.

I enjoyed the documentary. I guess some people dont like history in the context of times. I was a teenager and remember a mentioning of this on news but zero information other than vagueness. Thank you for your presentation

Im 16: 17 into the video Perhaps it is later, but the Chinese launched a missile between LA and an off shore Island. It was never omitted though just a spiraling trail into the sky against a blazing sunset.

The extent that USA went in the said salvage operation, the persistence and willingness to do what others might think is mad, makes me wonder if they will be the strongest nation for a long time yet

Billions of dollars wasted at times to play hide and seek and potentially die over small technicalities, that causes MAGNANIMOUS CASUALTIES. What a waste, to ensure M. A. D. -NESS.
