A whole lot of movies video games and roller coasters in a lot of amusement parks that we used to have that have now been torn down and lots of sad disasters in Oklahoma Tornado 99 and Atlantic Hurricane Season 99 just wow!
At least I was 10 and happy to be alive in 1999 and born in late 1992 before 2020 when things got worse!

Hahaha! One of the best years. I was 28 and just finished residency. I was a young single doctor looking at the world with hope and optimism. The Cold War was over. The economy was great. The dollar was strong. We had a budget surplus. Except for our little excursion into Kosovo, we had no wars. We also thought the internet was going to lead us into a Pax Romana of endless peace and prosperity. The biggest worry in the media was the overblown concerns about Y2K. The 90s was a unique time in history. Those of us living in it, didnt appreciate it enough.

Tought you'd include the debut of one of the most relevant games of all time, Sep 30 of 1999 is when Age of Empires 2 was born, a game ahead for his time not only for the RTS genre, but also for the growing PC game industry, guess that there are way too much milestones per year to include one of these, or PC games weren't near as popular as today, or that these kind of videos tend to expose pop culture/political and historical facts of our history, nevertheless awesome video as always

I can't help but think of the utter irony of this day and time regarding the Jenny Jones lawsuit. In this day and time, it would not even really be a big deal that one guy was straight in his so-called friend had a crush on them or whatever it was but back then you know people still had shame or didn't want to be associated with the gay community like that. What a difference 20 years makes! amazing

The government will never get the credit it deserves for the work done leading up to Y2K, proactively working together with the private sector around the clock checking billions, trillions of lines of code. Because nothing happened, alot of people naturally assumed there was never really an issue.

The thing i miss the most from those times were my friends.
Thats what people need the most in life.
That connection to other people which is in essence heaven.
Today my group of friends is much smaller but its better than nothing i guess.

dont forget about all the murders in chicago, at least 106 were found dead, only 1 man lived but only for 2 hours, he described the killer as a man with sideburns as low as his moustache he frequently used baked beans to lure and kill the homeless. to this day nobody has found the killer

the ending of blair witch is one of the scariest movie scenes OF ALL TIME. her going down the stairs and seeing him standing in the corner is so frickin' creepy.
i saw that movie in theaters when we all still thought it was real. then immediately went camping. WORST IDEA EVER.

Seems like after 95 or 96, things changed drastically- music, tv, & movies were so different & I didn't care for any of it anymore. I stopped listening & watching it all, with exception of a few. The 80s-96 were best, imo.

There is a difference between impeachment and removal from office. Bill Clinton was impeached by the House of Representatives but it is the Senate that decides if removal is warranted. He WAS impeached but not removed.
