saw Michael Jackson in person when I was 11 living in S. Korea. We went to Everland, which is an amusement park over there, and he showed up to do a concert there later that night. He was being escorted from one building to a limo that was taking him to concert location, and as he was riding to the location through the park my cousin (15F, and I ran up along the limo. He was smiling at me, and all, and then my cousin threw up the peace sign to, which he gave the peace sign back. That's it. That's my story

Sad that people still prop up this child molester, he definitely made some great music, but the dude was definitely a pedo no doubt. Just look at the creepy ass photos of his bedroom. Not to mention the sound proof rooms or the alarmed doors and one way glass. Go look up pics of inside Neverland Mansion and tell me that s not the sanctuary of a pedophile. Also, ya know, he always literally had little boys around him.

I was 11 and remember watching the Motown 25 special with my parents, as they were both big Motown and Stax fans and I remember my dad's mind being seemingly blown. It seemed as if there was a type of sea change in the world of entertainment. If you weren't there, it's hard to imagine how big Michael Jackson was after Thriller came out, along with this performance.

Per Mad Men: KERNEL! None of the resembling previous (or subsequent) versions are identical in conception OR performance, nor did MJ officially claim to be its sole originator (iirc and nor could/did the other artists mentioned here. MJ can be held responsible for a lot of shit, but his era being one of unprecedented mass visibility isn t one of them.

slight correction here
MJ was stubborn, he didn't want to perform at Motown,
But when they were persistent on him being there and performing along with his brothers.
He said, he will only perform at the reunion if he gets to perform solo later on ( Remember Thriller was not a Motown Album, it was an Epic Album )

Fun Fact: The Moonwalk is actually called The Backslide.
MJ actually made a mistake and told a reporter the wrong reference name when asking him about his dance moves. The moon wall michael was actually talking about in the interview was a alot like the robot. Which makes more sense when you think about it.

I still recall seeing his performance of TV. MJ blew everyone away. Michael Jackson told Barbara Walters in an interview' he learned the moonwalk from watching kids in New York, moved like that when they were performing. Whether it was East Coast or West Coast, he really made it his own.

No shade to Marvin Gaye because he is a legend in his own right, but all you did was play the piano while singing What's Going On? His addition to the show was last minute. Don't be hating on MJ for coming to class prepared when you showed up to do the bare minimum.

It's pretty curious that Jackson's most popular song, Smooth Criminal, has such disturbing as f ck lyrics. I mean, it's about a woman who is murdered in her house by a burglar. I wonder if people who crazily dance while hearing it realize its meaning

He may Wanna Startin' Something and Michael's Billie Jean performance was a Thriller, doing the moonwalk was a Pretty Young Thing to do! He may have Beat It too much and upstaged the others but uniting everyone is his Human Nature.

0: 58 Devastation of the Macarena Wars of the 1990's. Oh man, barely came out alive during those times, going through the battlefield (elementary PE class) and enduring the horrific sights and sounds of the Macarena wars.

Complaining that he overshadowed anyone it s just straight up jealousy, he spent countless hours rehearsing to put on a good show for everyone, nobody stopped the other performers from trying to do the same thing.

I was just a little too young to actually see the show, but I do remember the obsession everybody had with MJ. You couldn't cross a street in the mid-80s without hearing or seeing a Michael Jackson reference.

Michael had the ability to own it, he literally was thought to be the original of some of his work, like my girl, loving you, moonwalk etc. His style of singing and snapping and the moonwalk was unique to him

I could care less about a child molester no matter how good he could sing! I liked some of his songs till the truth came out about him and what he was doing to trustworthy kids and parents!
