What if France Never Surrendered in WW2? jasoniscool2006: Heres what happens. Paris is bombed destruction is like the rest of Europe. And France still loses. Algeria and the Mediterranean coast of Africa are targeted by the Germans and Italians more aggressively instead of the bombing campaign that took place in Britain, if successful only reinforces the need and advancement of a German navy. But ultimately probably leads to a similar path w the UK as actual events just later in the timeline. The eastern front is still a toss up. Would have to begin in spring of 41 for what would need to be a swift pass to Moscow completed by winter or needs to begin in spring of 42 (I doubt their pact would last that long though) otherwise the stalling of German forces still happens and is still a long drawn out affair as what happened in our timeline. Japan still bombs Pearl Harbor, and the us still enters the war. Unless the Eastern front was taken swiftly by Germany the result is still the same w allied victory. In which case we have a France-less Europe or some form of quasi uk-us influenced government. More like a democratic puppet state as the eastern bloc nations were soviet puppet states.

0: 54 I don't understand this list.
For the Franco-Dutch War, even if the Dutch fleet had been more effective on sea, The French won territories and influence on land.
Just like they never lost the Nine years war. More a compromise between the belligerents, They won the most of the confrontations anyway.
The Spanish war of succession was not a victory, but not a defeat either, despite the initial victories, after the Battle of Malplaquet the coalition fragmented with too many losses. The British returned home, and the French finally won the last few fights. Despite obvious exhaustion.
The Austria war of succession, this is not a military defeat either. Louis XV just decided to return his conquest by education of the enlightenment, that was mistake, but on the political way.
As for the French Revolutionary War(s, there were two won.
And the Napoleonic War(s, there were five wars, two of which were lost (the last two in fact.

There is a question of whether the Japanese invasion of SE Asia would be hampered with French Vietnam remaining Allied. The other question is whether this in turn would dampen Japanese morale and lead to a much worse position in the Asia-Pacific. Would the military failures in an earlier stage sour the attitudes of government officials and sue for peace even earlier?
The biggest question is how all of this would impact decolonisation in Algeria. Would France being in such a poor state be compelled to give concessions to Algeria? Or would her emotional attachment to the colonies tighten her grip? Or a bit of both?

Wouldn't Algeria be develloped even more and have more french immigration?
Plus the fact that since France wouldn't have lost and would have relied so much on the territory, likely building an industrial base there and evacuating a part of the pop, probably the skilled engineers, there the attachement to France and the attitude of the algerians locals would have been far more favorable no?
It would have strengthened algeria as a part of France wouldn't it?

A point not addressed here is when the war with the USSR would begin, and which side would start it. Even Hitler would not have attacked to the east while still embroiled in a land war in the west.
Also, driven back to the home islands in 1944, Japan would have time to reflect (and starve, and might offer terms which would be acceptable to the Allies.

3: 29 The relationship between the Moroccan protectorate, the Allies and the Axis is much more complicated than that. Morocco wanted to be loyal to what was at the time the French authority but was also extremely shocked and refused to apply Vichy laws about the Jewish. By then end of 1943 the protectorate was rather loyal to the Free French Forces

If France never surrendered, the country would have been razed by Hitler's armies. France had neither the right men (soldiers did whatever they wanted and they were rarely inspected) or the technology to resist Germany (they still used horses in battle) and it was clear that Hitler wouldn't hesitate to destroy France if they resisted.

French socialist elites thought they shared a common agenda with German National Socialists, similar to the understanding the Soviets had of their non aggression pact with the Axis. The common French necessarily lost freedom, security, and more, like all subjugated under the Socialist boot. Sound familiar?

If Poland Never entered the USSR's sphere of influence then Germany would Most Likely Keep their Pre 1938 borders (Pomerania and Silesia at the very least) as the Soviets wouldn't have gotten far enough into Germany to commit mass genocide and expulsion of the native Germans in the Area

I like this video, but I think you discount the Soviet Union being more opportunistic and joining the war earlier. The west would still take far more territory than the Soviets would but I think they would still have retained control over Poland, and perhaps a small part of Germany
