Well done film, just have a problem with the central theme of It was truly self defense. The pendulum has gone way too far the other way with our collective thinking. When you enter another man’s home and he defends it and now you want to assert you were only defending yourself (smh) way too far. You were the threat as soon as you entered, you weren’t some lost person. That very act made you a threat you can say you were there only to take the jewels, only to use the bathroom, only to take food. but why should you be believed There are many people murdered now and we all don’t want someone killed or jailed over petty things but to see a stranger breach someone else’s home and sense of safety and then just dismiss it as not a threat is bleeding heart nonsense. The very act of being in a persons home uninvited is a threat to their existence and shouldn’t be trivialized. I hate the idea of people being harmed but our society has gone way to far when folks are more concerned about getting in trouble for defending themselves and their loved ones and when bad guys, who have made a choice to do wrong, get the empathy.

Radheya, WOW! The Quiet just blew my mind and blue me away (BOTH intended to be sincere compliments. I've been an avid SciFi fan ever since I saw 2001: A Space Odyssey at the local theater when I was 8 years old. No Joke. I am THAT old. I've lost count of how many films I've seen throughout the decades and the many I've seen on DUST. I must say, I didn't enjoy your short film. I love it! Truly, unique, creative, exceptionally well done and one I'm saving to watch again and again. BRAVO! You have a very bright future ahead of you.
Sincerely,
Nobody but a very impressed fan.

Beware of spoilers!
The Quiet by Radheya Jegatheva
Plot: It is bad, when our dreams die before we do Plot is not complicated, but there is a twist ooh, and I thought its about time loop: - ) story nicely told, pacing is very well chosen for the story
Negatives: I have found nothing
Positives: 1) visual form very nice; I like animated sci-fi; 2) voice
Personal note: How did you persuade HAL to do the narration : - )
Summary: very nice short, very likeable

I'm not 100% sure I understood this, and I'll be watching again when I'm not so tired to try again, but even without that this was captivating and very creative. The most interesting thing I've seen on Dust in quite a while. The voice was perfect, had a hint of Vincent Price maybe As someone who did quite a bit of animation a long time ago, I love some of the illustration transitions as they reinforced the spoken words, like the shattered glass turning into the eyes as the eyes are described. Very nice.

I'll admit that you have excellent skills that I do not currently possess. Even though the varied, interesting pieces never really coalesced into a thoroughly enjoyable, coherent whole for me, it was interesting. I did like the insane, Poe-esque Unreliable Narrator. Truly a weird tale, but not in the Lovecraftian sense. Still, it was worth a view. : )

Beautifully sad story. Aside for praises of how good this was, it's terrifying to dwell on the fact that one unfortunate situation could end in life in prison, even if you're innocent. Most of the prisoners usually say they are innocent, but a percentage of them really are. Or the sentence doesn't compute with the crime committed. Is horrifying to think that.

Wonderful short, excellent imagery and graphics! Very thought provoking stream of thought consciousness where you realize he is talking about himself and his prison life as an allegory of space and the quiet of the universe in the confines of a 'spacesuit'.

Hi, I'm the creator of 'The Quiet' - hope you enjoy! I want to give a shoutout to the voice you're hearing in the film - my wonderful dad. Super honoured to have our work on here. Big thank you to DUST, and thank you so much for watching my film.

I'd much rather listen to the crackly, low-fi recording of the first Gemini spacewalk than watch a crude animation sampler while listening to tawdry ASMR fx all for the benefit of a bad poet who sounds like they're the graveyard shift DJ for Milquetoast FM.

T-Mobile is like buying (depends or because) adult diapers. and in the morning and getting them on and getting to the kitchen and realizing they are already full of Shit. and there goes the got Dame start to your day!
reply

There was no reason for this to be a sci-fi, the entire first half is pointless for the other half and to be honest the big reveal and general theme of this were generic and boring. The visuals were pretty I guess.
reply

Wait! Hold on! What just happened at the end there O_o Nice twist! I loved the narration and the story. The narrator sent off some HAL9000 vibes, which I thought was a nice touch for this film. _
reply

Very cool. Reminded me a bit of an old animated recitation of Tell-Tale Heart with voice by James Mason -- it was a similar concept of surrealistic visuals combined with calm, creepy narration.
reply

Congratulations for an extremely well done project. The writing, acting, filming and editing have made this short film RIVITING! Thanks and KUDOS to all who had a hand in the making of this film.
reply

the one and only thing this story lacks is: silence.
There was none.
Great story, editing, graphics and ending. I just wish there was a bit of actual silence.

reply

Wow! That was so unusual.
Space used as imagery for life. Extraordinary! Never seen anything like it.
Maybe had a feeling of 2001: a Space Odyssey about it.

A fascinating impressionist tale with an ending that cannot be foreseen. All I will say is this: Everyone tries to escape and, sometimes, that escape can be only inward.

This made me burst out laughing at times. This is a beautiful perspective on sanity and 'in'sanity. This is amazing mental work. An amazing perspective.

01: 16 What a nonsense to think on an orbit in only 70 miles = 112 km height. Drag is here big enough to deorbit in less than one times around the Earth.
reply

I love the visuals in this! Showing the sun when the narrator talks about turning on the stove and the galaxies when talking about the sunny side up eggs.

Calling this production a masterpiece is an understatement. It's been a long time since I have seen content this good. Thank you and well done.

So wonderfully weird! Your Dad has a great narrative voice. The double entendres, the graphics, the plot twists. All so perfect! Kudos!
reply

I love this. Really well put together and the twist was completely surprising - very well done.
The voiceover is really poetic!

reply

So powerful! Using sci fi to tell a story that really was more about the human condition, very little sci fi here yet still a strong film!
reply

Old style! Love it! The visuals are awesome. but a good storyteller can get by with the telling. Well done. Thank you.
reply

This provokes the thought - does a twins consciousness still live on in the mind of the other 'living' twin Hmmmm
reply

Excellent work and remarkably how the Mind can save you in the worst of the situations however you always pay
reply

This is a great story. Beautifully animated. I wouldn't put it in the Sci Fi category though. Thanks

As Aleksey Navalny has said I am on the spaceship and this is the long space travel that take 8 years

0: 55 It's always fun to (not) see the North Korea when they show the Earth with electric light only!

I just want some of what you are having. Better than any trip my product has taken me on. lol
reply

Wow, a short story on DUST that actually tells a short story And this one is a rare gem!
reply

Remarkably illustrated and animated along with an expert narration! Extremely well done!
