The discrepancy between the design of the futuristic juggernaut spaceship and the pvc-helmets threw me off for a number of times. A good helmet can come in handy when your about to set down on LV-426. and it's actually easier when the pilot says in the pipe five by five! :P. And why didn't they say kitty kitty kitty with the sound of the chains after they enter the building

I'm so confused. How do they know the storm has been raging for 2000 years! How can a spaceship not land without being able to see the ground. Did they forget to add radar to the ship! Why would she ask for volunteers to go down. Don't they have dedicated personnel for that! And I haven't even gotten to the surface yet!

Nicely done. Saw it was Paradox and thought it was gonna be a scene from a game. Accomplished a lot in a very short time: set the context, established the mission. Evil corporation sends its pawns into supposedly uncharted space but someone's been here before. oh nooooo

less than 10 minutes clip starting for over a minute. such a short movie and I got bored anyway. Bad acting and really poor special effects, predictable story. and political correctness on top. definitely the worst I've seen on Dust so far.

So, 1 billion dollars is not a lot for a spaceship. At a steady 2% inflation 10 billion in 2159 is the equivalent of 500k today.
Also, if they know there's resources on the planet they would know there's a 3000 year storm

The ending did not make a lot of sense to me. And I found the loud breathing unrealistic. As a retired commercial diver I can recommend the sound of breathing underwater in a Superlite helmet. Would have been way more effective.

The lines were annoying, seemed to be written by AI. Unfunny jokes. The opening letters made it clear that the film would be like Alien. The cyclic time was not explored, it was only left at the end, without any purpose.
reply

its funny that your writer thinks that a space ship only costs $1billion dollars, also why would the ship land without waking the whole crew and if you only need 5 people to run the ship why have 195 people
reply

Why would 'the company' send another set of clones to the same planet to collect resources, knowing that the ship cannot land because the last time the clones landed they were eaten.
reply

Not an issue for soy boys, but i get a sick feeling seeing females in charge, i guess i could not be on that crew, id have to have my own ship so i cauld manage it the right way.
reply

The only issue I have is them using a famous Army Infantry division that fought in the Pacific theater. They just flipped it around. It's major if one is looking for reality.
reply

All things considered, that was really well made.
The acting was a little stiff though. Like they were reading their lines as opposed to acting them.

reply

The acting in this one, especially by the navigator guy and the captain (at the end there, was the weakest I've seen from these Dust videos in a while.

Short, indie films ought to be an opportunity to do something different not to revisit the same, tired old tropes. A missed opportunity, here.
reply

I noticed that the insignia on their uniforms was the Seventh Army patch which was upside down. The patch was known as the Seven steps to hell

Wow! I thought I was watching Alien re-run. Pretty much the same story except for some minor changes. This was really BAD! . \ /.
reply

Interesting story, though apparently receiving 52-year-old do not land messages is a common failure mode of their radio receiver.
reply

Annoying girl boss lead and weak men.
You guys have the creative ability and resources to make great films, but this one is lame.

reply

Was just getting good then the abrupt ending, not sure why the name recursion though, unless I missed something.
reply

Captures the Exploring/exploiting outer space with all your equipment made down to a price vibe of Alien perfectly.
reply

. the message is 52 yrs old, obviously a malfunction. Not sure how one has anything to do with the other!
reply

That sound is exactly the exact same sound effect used in alien covenant when they got a rogue transmission
reply

Lmao ah yes, the classic million dollar space suits that don’t fit at all and made from vacuum hoses and PVC pipes.
reply

44 years later and the Alien trope still persists, right down to the identical alarm and chains sound effects.
reply

My first question: Who is actually in charge Everyone seems so nonchalant and noncommittal
reply

Very Good, thank you! Would love to see alot of these excellent Dust videos as full length series.
reply

They ignored the warning beacon transmission. They deserve what they get. :)
reply

How about the time dilation the transmission he sent was the one they received
reply

Amazing how 9: 32 seconds had me on edge of my seat great job liked the ending twist
reply

Why have they got washing machine drain hoses stuck to their helmets lol.
reply

Never, but NEVER VOLUNTEER! Ya just like a ''red shirt'' form ST: TOS.
reply

Wow, what a great intro to what would presumably be a much better movie.
reply

Well done! Wish it was longer to explore the implied space-time element.
reply

A lot of people who dont reallly understand recursion really mean nesting.
