What made dying light a big deal?

Dying Light (2015 PC, PS4, Xbox One) became one of our favorite zombie games. In anticipation for Dying Light 2, we wanted to take a look back at the OG Men: I have amazing memories of the original Dying Light. I was 14 at the time and was pumped more than ever for a game like that. I would watch the trailers over an dover again, I actually just played & finished it again I love the seamless gameplay that still matches up to todays games. And its a first person zombie open world parkour game. Has never been done before and still hasn't been done since its release. I am excited for DL2 but admittedly am kind of nervous for its gameplay. I liked that the original DL had parkour, seamless combat & great upgrades along with a decent storyline. But I'm nervous this new DL2 won't have the perfect flowing gameplay the original had. it seems like there's a lot in this game. first you get a parachute, the parkour & combat seems a bit choppier. Plus the graphics really remind me of Fallout 4. I am still excited but my expectations aren't as high as they were for the original.

The -virals- are the most annoying enemies in the game, even after maxing out all three skill trees and 20 points into the legendary skill tree, and that really says something of just annoying they are! As for running around at night I would always drink a speedbooster and I was never caught by the nasties, even without using the grappling hook because they just could-nt keep up.Its also a very polished game and I rarely encountered any bugs;those that are were minor ones and more amusing than anything else(Ps4 pro)

One thing that DL2 should've not do is to add a healthbar. In DL, the hud elements aren't bothering you a lot, keeping you very immersed in the game. Having floating healthbars not only cuts that immersion easily, but it also cuts a big scary stuff: not knowing just how tough an opponent was. You had either to trust your guts or to learn the hard way how strong the zombies (or humans) were, and adding direct info on them like that is... erf, in my opinion.

Dying light 1 my fave things to do were watching my friend repeatedly trying to drop kick a big zombie (Goon) the ones that wield Rebar or at the Harran bridge throwing zombies off it into the water or busting out laughing coz my mate just drove his buggy off a cliff in The Following DLC ahhh good times

So I-ve been doing a new play through because Dying Light 2 comes out in less than a week. Imagine my surprise when a couple days into this play through there is an update file. They added a live event a week before the sequel comes out. Absolutely unreal and a lesson for all AAA devs out there.

This game has always been in my top 3 because ive always messed around with my buddies with super dropkicks, be the zombie, and best of all doing quests. But when I got dying light 2 it was kinda under whelming because I beat it in 20 hrs. Also there is a lot of collectables so it was worth it

The game was so good because you had developers who cares and loved the project they were on and you could tell with the quality.. and the constant add ons five years later something these other developers don't do with their games any more

i got the first one on Saturday and have been playing it all weekend. i really like how at the start crane doesn't really have any parkour moves but the further you go the better he gets at it almost like hes learning from the city
