Zelda tears of kingdom - biggest game of the year?

Zelda Tears of Kingdom - BIGGEST Game of The Year? Anthony: Definitely not. maybe in the small tiny nintendo community. but as for someone like me who owns the switch, xbox x and p5, anything that releases on the switch always feels like a pebble compared to what releases on either of the others, especially p5.
The map is a buncha reused assets, reused enemies, on the same underwhelming tiny dated hardware.
Cashgrab greedy nintendo jus tryina rake in when the last zelda 6. 5 years ago already pushed the switch to its absolute limits. in other words this title aint pushing the hardware no harder than the zelda from 6 years ago lmaoo

The last time I was really hyped for a game like you described at the end there was metroid dread. I currently have no plans to buy this next zelda title, it feels divorced from the rest of the series to me, if we suddenly have major items and dungeons with unique themes I'd consider but the only things that have me the slightest bit interested in this title were the red tendril things around link's arm/the master sword and the new boss enemies like I assume the 3 headed dragon looking thing was. I don't like open world games generally and if this is what zelda is going to be from now on I'm glad metroid has recently had more frequent releases, because despite growing up with the zelda series I'm ready to be done with it if BotW is what we're stuck with.

idk- i guess? im not a zelda fan tho- i have played most of the games since everyone i know constantly would go on and on about them being the goat -
breath of the wild was okay at best for me (great world, gameplay was mid, and zero story)-
my fav of the series was the old snes link to the past- that one was solid-
this game sorta maybe looks like what i think botw should have been and even still, im skeptical of there being any real story again-
i guess ill never see what everyone else sees in these games- but im happy everyone else is getting something good so thats cool

This game is a hundred % developed for the switch hardware
Meanwhile Nintendo: laughing Hehe. He thinks we had this made for the switch. Haha. Can't wait to see his surprise when we announce it as a release title for our next gen console.
Messing aside, we all know it's coming. They wouldn't dump this much into making a game for that very dated system at this point. They absolutely already have their next gen system games in development and this is one of them. No doubt in my mind.

Excited. Hard to say if it'll be wicked good until it actually launches, but from what they've shown us it's heading in that direction. I sincerely hope the devs at Nintendo have learnt from botw's countless mistakes and make this game really shine, though I can't help but be a little pessimistic.
In any case there's no doubt the wicked exploration will overshadow most shortcomings like it did with botw.
Surprise us Nintendo. That's all I can ask.

My only problem with this game being the end and the beginning of the timeline theory is, where do you go from there? Meaningless stories in between the bookends? Almost makes every other Zelda game pointless because it's just a repeating cycle.
I very much prefer the convergence of the timelines theory than the uroboros theory.

Totally agree. Before, I thought ToTK would just be a nice rehash of BoTW. But this new trailer makes feel like it could actually be a contender for game of the year, amongst a year of incredible games. And I really havent felt hyped like this for another trailer. I did get a lil hyped for Starfield, but not like this.

I play breath of the Wild For The First Time about 2 years ago. It sucked. Enormous empty world. Bland and uninspiring the entire time. Add to that the worst weapon mechanics I have encountered in any game at any point at any time in the history of video games. I do not get the hype on that first game it was terrible.

I think the mechanic of sending the boulder flying back is the rewind mechanic that we've seen before (the one that sends the rock flying back up to the sky in the gameplay demo, but shown being used more in combat. We kind of saw that in the first trailer when Link sent the spike ball rolling back uphill.

100% of other developer in this world saying: that's it, no way our game can be Game of The Year 2023 We can hear every other open-world game dev crying bitter tears about how hard it's gonna be to steal that fusion mechanic. It's a matter of time until someone create a Gundam in this game.

I think it's criminal how nobody seems to care about Age of Calamity. It seems they're taking gameplay from that game and mixing it with botw with the companions, besides, that game created a new timeline, and I don't think it was just an spin off. Damn, that game is great

PsPlus losing 32 games in May I knew the 19 from that catalog were scheduled to leave but 13 more games on top of that!
Anyone know exactly why Spider-Man is being pulled? Legal rights? SM2 soon?
Also losing Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a bummer. I wanted to try it.

Man, it's crazy to me that this trailer dropped just this morning, and Gameranx is already here with a well-edited, in-depth analysis video. You guys have to be some of the most efficient video editors in the world. Keep up the great work!

I was really excited about Zelda when it was first revealed. And then I saw more and more and I sort of started to lose interest. But this last trailer has reignited that excitement I had. The tone and pacing just felt fantastic and epic.

This game looks like ass. It visually looks worse than BotW which is saying something. I have very little hope for this title.
My money and time is going for FF16, which keeps making my jaw drop with each video that comes out.
