I think in the case of the Harry Potter game on this list, the phenomenon of nostalgic bias is more apparent than most care to acknowledge. I as an adult can see how poorly constructed of a game it really is, it's objectively flawed and lacks depth. But none of those traits were apparent when I was a young kid playing my first Harry Potter game. I try to point out this same effect to myself with games I currently enjoy too. How much of the game do I like thematically vs mechanically? Is it a good game automatically because my interest in that universe is pre established?
A line does exist. An interesting topic to dive deep into!

I have to say it. I was 12 and i loved L. A. I. R it was great and still the best dragon game. I see why i wouldn't like it that much now, but back then the game was amazing in matter of finishers with the dragons and the controls and the general fantasy elements.

Metal Gear Solid is by far the worst you said wrong answers only, right?
But seriously, MGS still holds up for me personally. That s my love for the series though, which is a strong bias. I m also really excited for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.

The A-rating is an indicator of development budget, nothing more. Even today when i say something like Dark Souls is one of the best AA games ever made someone somewhere will go it's def AAA! Cuz it's ah-may-zing! . sigh.

I thunk you could have discussed why the games were bad more. you would say this game is bad, dull, full of bugs. then the game footy for like dreadfall, medal of honour, made me think the games looked pretty good.

I would say battlefield 2042, call of duty modern warefare 3, runabout 3, silent hill downpour, last of us part 2, horizon, AC Odyssey and Valhalla, alan wake, james bond 007, saints row 2022 all these games are trash.

I remember being so hyped for All Points Bulletin. and when the game came out I was really dissapointed. There were some good parts, not denying that, but overall it lacklustred.

To be honest, I'm surprised this list doesn't have titles like Devil May Cry 2, (Capcom, so it is triple A) or Cyberpunk 2077 at launch, still a great list though, thanks Gameranx.

I used to be OBSESSED with Driv3r as a kid, I would spend hours driving around. Never played any of the missions, just used to drive around the whole time!
