10 Times Game Companies Had To APOLOGIZE
video description
The Xbox fiasco was mostly the brainchild of Don Mattrick. We all know this, and by the end of E3 2K13 when he made the ridiculous stick with 360 comments, we were all begging for his head on a platter. Is it any wonder why he had to walk everything back soon after before taking off to Zynga like he left a fart in an elevator (only to leave there after two years and hasn't been back in the gaming world since) Yeah, Xbox hasn't rebounded after that due to the damage already being done, but they did enough to get me back on their side at least. I'm not mad at them anymore.

Imagine ordering food and your food was frozen in the middle.
They take the food back, throw in the microwave again and bring it back to you and now it’s cold in the middle.
I’d say you deserve a full refund and compensation
Games need to be like this as well. It’s absolute BS games can be released unfinished. I’m not unreasonable, I understand there are hiccups but there’s a difference between hiccups and pure telltale signs of unfinished content.
All gamers DESERVE to have a refund option. If you are not satisfied in the first let’s say 24-48hrs, you deserve to have a legal right to a refund. That puts pressure on studios to FINISH what they started and not release uncooked products.
CEOs will be upset they lose money for not releasing games on time but if they implement refunds for everyone, they will lose even more if their product is crap. So let the studios have their delays to ensure quality content because the fans are the only way to keep studios afloat.

Its been years, and everyone forgets, but cp2077 wasn't just hated due to bugs, performance, etc. it was also hated because the game wasn't as advertised feature wise. the city was dead, and lifeless. lifepaths meant nothing. there were no dynamic events in the open world, no minigames, nothing else to do besides the on rails story, or the side quests at map markers. people questioned why it was even an open world game. the city itself looked amazing, but had almost nothing to do in it.
a majority of the immersive elements they showed in the night city wire trailers were either cut, or never planned in the first place. it was very, very bad for many, many reasons on release.

I'm sorry, but WHY mention the efforts of the other dev companies but not what CDPR did
1. CP2077 was patched starting 6 months after release, which was months AFTER they FULLY REFUNDED a huge chunk of the purchases players weren't happy with! And the patches & updates never stopped coming, and if you think the current version of the game (especially on your top of the line hardware) is 'just decent', then you are part of the problem! The bottom 50% of gamers who aren't wealthy enough to get a PS5 the first month, or a $6k PC, were not the ones spewing hate & rage, just sayin'.

History repeating. It's Atari 2. 0.
Flood the market with mediocre games.
Don't listen to the customer base.
Flood the market with a bunch of crappy consoles with small upgrades for the slim or pro model and release another next gen update.
Raising prices as games get worse.
Games as a service will pop this bubble. And what you'll see is the workers getting the ax, while the suits, who are actually to blame, because suits just don't listen to developers and make horrible business decisions with only profit in mind.

EA is a menace. Killed so many games and studios. They have cancelled the latest star wars fps because they said people really looked forward to it but they want people to focus on their upcoming IPs which is a bunch or sports and live service games. They pushed out the garbage fps aveum game and really used that as an excuse that fps cant do well in this market and cancelled an fps we were all looking forward to. Please someone buy out EA and close it like it does to so many others

I agree with the companies. Its all of you numbskull gamers who keep on giving them your money for unfinished products, all the people pre ordering because of hype. Its pathetic. Youre gonna spend $300 on something like an event on apex and call everyone else broke or poor then have the audacity to cry about servers.
Companies know you'll buy it anyway and make a little reddit rant after then go right back to playing and spending. The gaming industry needs a firm shake up.

I do agree that that Xbox One really took a hit because of what is basically corporate greed. The 'always online' was never going to work. Not everyone has access to the internet and saying that you basically have a useless lump of electronics if you don't is probably the worst thing you could market. Honestly the only reason why I have a Xbox One is because my friend just gave it to me when he upgrades to the better Xbox One, I would have 100% preferred a Playstation.

I wish folks would remember these issues, especially the weasel move R made by de-listing remasters.
Seems like they would’ve taken the remasters and added to those for the definitive collection, instead of giving a graphically stunted mobile version of the games. lol.
Modern gaming sucks
1. Release the Crappen
2. Apologize
3. Maybe fix
4. Recoup losses with micro transactions
STOP PREORDERING GAMES
except maybe a few big N titles.

See I’ve never been super educated on this type of shit with gaming, I just love gaming lol. I absolutely loved the Xbox one, it’s probably my favorite console of all time. I didn’t understand the hate when it came out (granted I was totally ignorant) but from day one I thought it was an outstanding console. Everything about it was better than the PS4 to me.
Now I’m a PC gamer and only use my console to watch movies or play UFC 5 lol

1. CDPR started patching the game within 6 months, and if you think it is now just 'a decent game', then you're part of the problem of players being spoiled rotten to the point that near perfection still isn't good enough! Those of us who were NEVER spoiled, who only got a PS4 to play it on prior to Xmas 2019, didn't see it as the dumpster fire that rich ppl who get every high-end PC & console ever needed for top of the line graphics!

Stuff like this is why gamers get angry about the attitude a lot of these companies have towards their fans. Like the Capcom exec who said games should be priced higher than the already expensive af $70 price tag and Ubisoft saying that we need to get comfortable with not owning our games. They want more money even when they put out trash. Like Ubisoft had been doubling down on Skull and Bones calling it quadruple A

I remember getting Mass Effect for free because of how bad the Sim City launch was. I had a friend over and we were actually excited for the coop part, but we spent the entire night unable to play because of server issues. Like oh its Sim City, we'll just both play some single player and see what we can get into, then we'll try the coop later when things calm down a bit but NOPE. Always online even in single player.

It's one thing to apologize, and another to apologize and do something about the issues. What grinds my gears is how Jedi: Survivor was released on the PC and still left in that state - EA basically pulling a FIFA on a Star Wars game. Found out recently when I tried to run the game with all low settings on an RTX 3070, only to crash after the opening sequence. Refunded it in 12 hours.

11: 30 that shits still a problem digital games are a joke even if it’s your home console you can’t play season pass or DLC content offline unless you have the DLC baked in like GOTY edition but even then if comes in as a separate download you can’t play offline unless you’re playing it when Wi-Fi cuts off I hate it so much even PlayStation does it

I still haven't gone back to Cyberpunk, I was such a big Witcher 3 fan and it really just bummed me out. I believe the game is good now, willing to play it. But I can't play that game over games that aren't in that state on release that I also want to play. But one day I'll play it and maybe even give them money for DLC. But not soon

EA dropped off of my radar back in 2002, or whenever it was. They horded the licensing for NFL games and took 2K to court just because they made a cheaper, yet far better looking game (compared the those no-neck NPCs EA had) then used 2K's design in the next Madden. It was infuriating! E-A-Greed. it's in the game.

4: 08 a play driven crafting economy for real money would get rid of predatory monetization practices. Gamers either have time to play or money to spend both of which want to feel productive when playing. Collecting components and making consistent progress to a desired goal would be more rewarding than RNGesus.

I love all the shots of fallout 76, I was waiting for it to be on the list. Bethesda has done nothing but apologize since. I feel like part of the problem is us the consumer. pre marketing based off of hype vs a review of a finished product. They sell it half finished hoping tye hype train will come along

The X-Bone dession has to be one of the worst video gaming business decisions. Microsoft had the US market and had a good chunk of European market. The only decision I can think that is worse than that is when Sega of Japan turning down a console deal with Sony after Sony's deal with Nintendo fell through.
