I can’t remember the name(s) but I remember more than 1 Contra rip offs that were horrible. I remember one year for my birthday. My grandmother got me one when I really wanted actual Contra 2 and I was so disappointed with that piece of shit, but I had to play it and look like I enjoyed it so I didn’t hurt my grandmother’s feelings. I distinctly remember two at least and they were both so bad. Sidenote, I would love to see a list or slideshow of things that grandparents bought for their grandkids thinking they would love it or thinking it was something else entirely. I bet we would get a few laughs from that. I was big-time into G. I. Joe’s growing up and my grandmother loved to get me G. I. Joe’s, but I swear to God she would get the weird knock off versions that were just a little bit bigger and crappier than the real deal. I think I wound up using those guys as prisoners in the cobra base. That and the damn not quite right Lego’s. Remember those Their colors were just a bit off and of course were not compatible with legit legos so you could not build with them

I actually hate it when people call a game another game's clone Just because of similarities, it's like, do you even know what clone means It means the same body but withOUT a soul, not with a different soul.
For example GTA is not the only game that has the right to simulate a city which has cars & guns; just because it's the best or came out first (With that logic GTA would be one of the better Driver Clones.

Playstation Battle Royal could have been a great game if it weren't for two little things: a compelling roster and the way in which you KO your opponent. The actual fighting was fun, and the presentation was nice, but leaving out characters like Crash, Spyro, Cloud, and classic Dante was a bad move. I get these guys are 3rd party, but Sony could still afford to pay for them with how big they were and still are.

If people didn't copycat games then COD wouldn't exist(Medal of Honor was first, Battlefield wouldn't exist, NFS wouldn't exist, Apex Legends wouldn't exist, and so much more. It's kinda a staple for games and movies. Kinda upset about the Saints Row one. Players asked for it not to be like GTA then asked for it to go back to its roots. MAKE UP YOUR MIND!

I don't really care if a game is a rip off or not, if it's fun then that's good enough. Think i played the sequel to the giana sisters though, was quite fun even if I did get stuck at the 1st boss and ran out of energy to play the game. Might try again if I find the time and energy again. That said I might be confusing it with another game.

Remember: Saint's Row is no longer with us because it lost its identity. Volition really thought the 3rd Street Saints without Johnny Gat paying off their student debts was a good idea. Then proceeded to drop a half-assed game at full price, and tried to gaslight their fanbase saying nothing was wrong with it. It's a damn shame.

Like half of the Lucas Arts Star Wars games. Loved me some LA games back in the day as an avid Star Wars fan and in many ways their rip offs were improvements on aspects of the originals but there at the time it felt like oh yeah that's doom with star wars paint or Oh yeah it's a crappier star was themed mario kart.

I don't get the hate for number 10. If every game were unique we would have less than 100 of them. I mean, Saints Row was practically a clone of GTA V. It's like getting mad at Genshin for having the same game mechanics as BOTW. Made this comment after seeing number 10 not knowing genshin was next. HAHAHA

The fact that there are 10 clones of games shows how un original games have become. Everyone’s just making Elden Ring wanna be, And nothing fresh, like there used to be unique games like Heavy Rain, COD was actually good. And now we’re just waiting for the big triple A games to save the her.

There's an another Hollow knight ripoff I know of, Crowsworn. It's still in development (They are copying Silksong's dev cycle too) and it might focus on ranged combat more than Hollow Knight, but it takes one look and you know what game inspired it.

Enchanted Portals developers said themselves that the game is inspired by Cuphead, and the audience knew it well. Steam reviews are negative simply because the game is bad, not because the players are pissed of ripping ideas from Cuphead.

I don't know if it was because I went into the reboot of Saints Row with low expectations based on the negative reviews (and my own dislike for Gat Out of Hell, but I had an absolute blast with the most recent game. Platinumed it too.

PlayStation all stars was totally underrated. Just a lot of haters that would rather smash you over on Nintendo. Big Rig was a shout, I completed that and got the high scores on a uncalibrated steering wheel back in the day

Saints Row 1 and 2 were the reason GTA had to step there game up I remember seeing in gta 4 on the penthouse laptop they had an actual article in the game talking about the game rivalry between Rockstar and Saints Row

genshin impact was acused of ripping off Nier Automata run and combat' too, there was a lot of videos comparing the running animation of 2B with characters from Genshin, and it IS extremely similar.

Cuphead copied the style of Betty Boop, a cartoon series from the 1930's, drawn by Myron Grim Natwick. So arguably ' Enchanted Portal' is a 'rip-off' of a 'rip-off'. Or a homage to a homage.
