I had a great time with this one. As crappy as it is to get these really short stories like Still Wakes The Deep, I would still rather get these rather than a full price game that is another bloated piece of Corpo crap. The story was good, it looks good, it didn't crash, no open world crap, no microtransactions. Really, I will probably spending more of my money on these types of games in the future.
I think that all we can hope for at this point is for ONE studio to say No to a buyout and keep making good stuff.
Thank again, as always!

Jake i don't know if you will see this but, remember the last episode from FPS podcast you guys mentioned something about an event to look forward to like a blockbuster on Friday night to enjoy with friends alike I think this is the type of games you played with your friends, invite them over to your house and have a blast with it over junk foods and drinks, your friends will brainstorm with you what is going to happen in the scenes and i think this is how it looks like in this modern day of age.

I randomly saw an add for it on TikTok and got it on a PS Sale on Friday. And i loved it. I had zero expectations going in as i knew nothing about it. And it was great. Blade Runner meets L. A. Noire with that Altered Carbon element. This game is sort of like that Next Gen looking game i've been missing. On PS5 it's one of the best looking games to date. It has some minor hickups here and there. But nothing that got in the way. Beautiful game that i will replay to Platinum.

After playing Yakuza 7, FF Rebirth, and ER DLC back to back, a short game is more than welcome!
And this looks incredible, the fact that you don't uncover the mysteries on your own is kind of disappointing, but they clearly worked hard on creating something we need more of, so I think the price tag is worth it.
p. s. am I the only who thought the face on the thumbnail was the actress from stranger things

Another Unreal Engine. It looks exaclty like any UE engine made in the last 5-10 years. Super generic visual, animations and VFX. I believe I saw the same explosion VFX in Stellar Blade. I bet devs let most settings on default, used only blue prints and did drag-and-drop for most assets. Maybe I will get it when it's on sale for 50% or more.
Also no UE5 specific elements like nanite and lumen.

Personally, I enjoyed the game overall. I agree that it was truly simple in execution for the gameplay mechanics, and had a few glitches on PS5 that got a little irritating. However, the story was incredible, and forces you into some interesting choices overall. For the price, I think it was highly worth it, and I can't wait to see what else this studio comes out with!

Bought this one. Remember Me is one of the rare games that I finished without procastinating. That and Bioshock looks is just hard to pass.
Besides it combines memories of alot of other series that are familiar like Altered Carbon, Fallout too.
I wouldn't be surprised that if this ends being the game that I finished the fastest since the day of the release.

I’m usually bored to tears by games like this but the whole vibe of it is drawing me in. If I like the setting and story, I don’t necessarily mind a walking sim, but they’re definitely not a go to for me. I liked Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture and SOMA, and this is kind of putting me in mind of them. May have to give it a go.

It came out of seemingly nowhere for me. I saw the trailer and took the plunge and I enjoyed it extremely.
The dialog choices are pretty amazing for how much you can miss really small details. On my second playthrough I saw the smaller details actually have small outcome changes, but not sure if the ending changes all that much

I know you guys at gameranx are very busy and I appreciate everything you guys do everyday and I hope you see this but I have some really cool facts for your game stories for the next time you guys do that at the end of the month. Theres a vape called V Play and it has pac man tetris and f22 you can play on your disposal vape

couldn't get into it. choices doesn't matter at all. story was good enough but nothing extra ordinary. gameplay mechanics are repetitive, no challenge and too much hand holding. I'm all for slow burners but this game didn't do much for me. I would say the graphics were really good and I really liked the atmosphere. that's about it

Great premise and story. But is it a game Or is it a guided story where you make decisions I felt very satisfied from a story perspective, very unsatisfied from a game. I felt that aside from the decisions there was nothing I did that mattered during an investigation. Maybe I was playing the game wrong

I want to try this game simply because I love the look and feel of the esthetic. I don't need it to just another anything. I also respect the developer decision (if purposeful) of not advertising this game in typical, braggadocios fashion like most developers do.

I got it on PS5 - visuals also very good. Very Quantic Dream though - you're following a narrative. I'd say I didn't always buy the ead characters voice acting - a bit too corny at times for me. Sara was real good though. She made it for me really.
reply

Do you know, I 'downloaded' it to check out the graphics - as you say, to check it out as a tech demo.
Actually got into it, and ended up buying it.
It's halfway between a game, and a Netflix show, back when Netflix used to make good shows.

I think the intense hand holding was my only problem with the game. However, upon reflection, it almost feels like the hand holding is a way to trick you into not going deep into the secondary investigation/exploration part of the game.

We need more games like this. Experimental. Novel. Trying new whole fields of game mechanics. If we had as many investigation AAA games as we had shooters, we would have more developed gameplay too by now. Give it time. Give it space.

Looks impresiive, 5-6 hours for $25 is steep though since there is no replayability. Totally agree with your assessment that a few more crime scenes to push this to the 10 hour mark would have made this a better pill to swallow.

This feels an extension of cyberpunk world, especially from Johnny’s old era. I’m playing it rn, and boy oh boy I thought I would like it but damn, great graphics, story’s good and twisted just like cyberpunk
reply

Really great graphics, game was a little too simplistic for me. You’re just moving from marker to marker. If this is supposed to be a detective game, you’re not much of a detective if the game tells you everything.
