I play on Series x, but I also occasionally play some stuff on my ps4 pro. Series x is a great console, but here is the issue, none of the current Gen games I play are exclusive to the series x. I tried Starfield but aside from the excellent ship builder, I got bored out of my wits after about 20 hours or so and un-installed. All of the Xbox exclusive games I have are all from Xbox one and before. I also recently stopped using gamepass. Don't get me wrong, it's not that the service is bad or anything, the problem is that I already have plenty of games that I payed for and currently have no reason to be constantly downloading new games that I couldn't possible find the time to play. But you have to pay for gamepass if you want to play online games that are not free to play, which to me is terrible. I know that xbox live always charged for online play, but it feels like the quality and value is going down, while the price is always going up and I am kind of sick of it. It's amazing how bad it seems today when you compare Xbox today to the amazing time that was the 360 era. It's actually kind of sad. I hope that the new Gears of War game can capture some of that old magic that Xbox used to be known for. However, given some of the modern trends, I wouldn't bet on it. The reality is that their exclusives are just not good anymore. I mean, I've been playing Palworld, which is coming to Playstation, and Shin Megami Tensei 5 Vengeance, which is just a newer version of an old switch game. There are plenty of excellent games on Xbox, but there just isn't anything that is awesome and new that is exclusive to Xbox, and it really sucks. They really need a hit, a system seller like what Halo did for the Xbox or what Gears of War and halo 3 did for the 360. And it will literally have to be that good.

Microsoft seems to have forgotten that it’s all about the games. PlayStation keeps releasing some incredible titles, and has multiple GOTY contenders in 2024 and what does Xbox have
They screwed themselves with the Series S as well. Forcing developers to target a weaker console often means having to make sacrifices on the stronger console, and raises development time and cost. That’s not a formula for success, especially considering the Series S is weaker than their main competition. The whole point of a console is to have a single hardware platform that performs identically everywhere that you can optimize for it, and having two and requiring your developers to support both goes completely against this philosophy (FWIW, I am aware Sony has their Pro models, but AFAIK no developer is forced to add Pro-specific features to their games, and games for the non-Pro systems typically work just fine or better on the Pro models without modifications. I suppose a developer could do the same on Xbox Series, but then the Series X would primarily have the game features of the lesser powered Series S, and that wouldn’t be competitive with PS at all. And this still makes game development more challenging for those companies releasing cross-platform titles.
If Xbox wants to make a comeback as a console making concern, their next generation needs to have a single console for developers to target that is at least as powerful as whatever the PlayStation 6 winds up being - and they need to focus on the games. PlayStation may have had some misses recently, but they still had Helldivers 2, Black Myth Wukong, FF VII: Rebirth, and Astro Bot in 2024. What GOTY contender did Xbox have that wasn’t cross-platform and also available on the PS5

They need more then this abysmall comeback, i own a series s and i have a huge list of complaints compared to my old rusty PS4.
UI is horrible, on the 360 you could use bumpers to switch between categories social, market, games. Now you scroll half a year down to find what you need between convoluted menu's. Library and game pass icons are so small that you can barely make them out on the top like i still own a old microsoft phone from 2008.
Controllers are cheap, have no good functions are overly noisy and feel horrible compared to a old ps4 duelsense controller the d-pad alone is ridiculous, xbox 360 was the GOAT for a controller and now it is like a chinese aftermarket afterthought with no innovation.
No games or exclusives, game pass is a overrated overpriced piece of junk that is maybe worth a damn when either indiana jones or stalker 2 comes out, black ops 6 is just laughable.
Xbox is like a 4. 5/10 for a console, i don't even care the potato series s is literally the least of it's concerns at what it al does wrong overall why even invest in a series or a xbone when a old PS4 does everything but better that is somehow a console that is a decade behind.

Here's an idea to make gamepass or xbox live better. Make xbox live super cheap on its own. Like $2-$3/month plan. Gamepass is now a package genre plan. Pay for the types of games you want to play, additional $5/package/month instead of all of them. Or maybe you can pay for all of them with their new ultimate plan which includes: live, all genre sections for gamepass, maybe even exclusive access to new titles early for like an 18% up to a 60% discount if you'd pay for all plans separately. Maybe there could be special sales for an additional pack half off for one month on a condition that, say, you paid the same plan consistently for 3 months. Some games outside your particular plan are free to play through friend packs or maybe even just invites if one of you has consistent ultimate payment. This could make it more accessible, more customizable and interactive, and most importantly: it would keep that control in the hearts of your players a whole lot more than there is now.
Your welcome.

I live in the UK and am a PC Gamer - I bought the XBox Series X because they did it on 0% finance for 2 years with Gamepass. This gave me PC Gamepass (loved it. I have had many consoles over the years PS1 & PS2 XBox original XBox 360 and now Series X. The biggest issue with the gaming inustry at the moment is simple - Quantity over Quality. The companies (XBox) are trying to rush companies into releasing AAA titles before they're ready. Companies need to strive for perfection, Elden Ring, Baldurs Gate 3 to name just two. Consoles are going to probably phase out as mobile tech gets more powerful. You will be able to Bluetooth Link your controllers to your TV and Phone and play there. Obviouse really, will save a fortune developing new consoles, just ot be out of date and years behind PC Tech the moment it's released. Sadness is coming to the gaming industry and bubble is already bursting. Thank god for PC Gaming: ) Great video Falcon, room for serious thought.

sony has been making all the wrong moves. Censorship, pricing, unnecessary remakes, concord. It's really not that hard for Xbox to come out on top, but for some reason we have Phil making the worst decisions possible passing up on games that would have changed xbox for the better. Now Indiana jones isn't even an exclusive. I've always said, all you need to do is make more exclusives and people will come, it's that easy. All they need to do is develop fan favorites like Ninja gaiden, Tenchu, Brute force, killer instinct, fable, halo, new vegas 2, elder scrolls 6, fallout 5, gears of war, mech assault and you easily dethrone sony. But this obsession with gamepass and call of duty is killing their chances.

So basically, you're asking xbox to do what consumers should be doing.
If you, the consumers, are unhappy with Sonys current business practices. Then speak with your wallets. Stop letting Sony screw you over.
I didn't like the ps price increase. Especially since Gamepass offers better value at a better price. So I canceled ps.
I own both consoles and prefer Xbox. So if I see a 3rd party game, I want to play being money hatted by Sony. I wait to see if it gets an Xbox port. Or wait until the price drops and get a pre-owned copy.
I'm not telling anyone to buy an Xbox. It's your money. Do what you want with it. I'm just saying, stop crying for xbox to save you from Sony.

I dunno. I quite like Gamepass because I can try things out. It still has good value to me. I haven't touched my PS5 in almost a year. I don't hate it and I'm not a fangirl. I just forget about it because it's had so few good games. My play time goes Nintendo Switch - Xbox SX - Steam on PC - PS5.
Feels like Sony and Microsoft are both dumb companies who prioritize keeping the share price high while Nintendo keeps running with weird ideas and making them work.
It does feel like the Blizzard/Activison acquisition was a big misstep though. I guess COD and Candy Crush are worth it to them

All of the exclusive xbox games doesn't interest me. Fable doesn't look promising, Avowed went from dark gritty to colorful cartoonish, perfect dark been in dev for so long aside from one trailer we got nothing, i was expecting a fun experience from senua saga although graphically impressive the game was a (lack of a better term) walking simulator with not so fun combat and puzzle. First game did way better. Dud after dud. Nothing hypes me anymore. The only xbox game i enjoyed this year is aom retold.

The big issue is with AAA games, they cost too much to make, take too long and if they are not good can sink a company. This is why PS5 games are also released on PS4 which is holding the sales of the PS5 back. as there is no real incentive to upgrade as you can just play it on PS4 anyway. because of this huge financial risk devs are scared to try anything new. (Without risk there is no innovation) And honestly just lots of bad decisions regarding what we as gamers really want. The industry needs a reset.

Was just talking about this the other day. I never owned an XBox, but I want Xbox to succeed to keep Sony on its toes. During Xbox's successful years, Sony kept coming out with a banger after bangers. Look what happened when they no longer see Xbox as their competitor. No new exclusive games/ip, remasters after remasters, and even a total failure like Concord.
There was a time I thought to myself, damn a Sony exclusive, it will be good. It's definitely gonna be good! Not anymore these days.

I've been with Xbox since the first halo. Moved from the PS2. Now I'm slowly moving to the PC with the steam deck. I'll say that the game pass with ea play is a great service, but that lifeline will only carry it so far. I haven't really bought a new game since the past resident evil games. I'm starting to find some fun hidden gems available to the PC market that I feel has me playing my steam deck over my Xbox. I think they are losing their luster and isn't a Titan as it used to be

Microsoft has windows, and it works for PCs, they also have game pass which applies across all platforms (Xbox and PC, hence they don't need to make a comeback, they are well set in their zone!
Plus all the so called Sony exclusives get ported to PC in a year or two after initial release, so console gaming is basically overrated considering a 1000 dollar pc will perform much better than 800-900 dollar shite console.
PC is an investment, it's time people realized that!

Exclusives are what is killing xbox. They have nothing. They are riding off their old ones like halo and gears. The last generation they at least tried. I mean sunset and ryse were some really fantastic games. Then nothing. It doesn't matter how many pixels your console can thrown if there are no games for it. I mean look at the wii, switch and ps2, they weren't the strongest consoles of the generation but they have certainly sold the most.

I know 4 guys who have never had a consoles, but for last 2 years they all
bought ps5, just for playing after work. They even don’t know about Xbox or don’t take it seriously, ps5 and word console have the same meaning for most people right now. PlayStation is too big and popular brand in this business, it’s why Xbox try to find another business model. Losing a 8th generation was a key moment. I’m Xbox owner

MS killing Tango Gameworks hurt me physically. Such a knife in the back. I'm a serious Evil Within fan, found both games to be stellar, and now the franchise is in the drawer, probably will spent a few years dormant like Dead Space did or like Splinter Cell is now. I was already not paying gamepass anymore at the time, but it was then that I realized I should become a pc gamer. No new corporate consoles in this house.

Honestly I think this guy doesn’t know anything about consoles Xbox is doing fine just cause Asians buy PlayStation apparently Xbox isn’t doing good they have way better games and releases they are buying everything and everything releases first on Xbox, game pass is great and you get your membership included for like 4 dollars extra this guy is angry at Xbox or something because they are doing fine

Yikes! Microsoft really shouldn't have bought up Activision and Bethesda IMO. With the total amount of $76. 2 billion dollars for both studios, Microsoft could have created a better copy of the I. P. 's they ended up purchasing. I know new i. p. 's are hard to break into the market with but if the quality is there then the gamers will come. Example: Black Myth Wukong. Unknown studio and i. p.

If they designed an xbox that works as both a gaming console and personal computer (hell it's already Microsoft, right) and say all games bought for xbox are compatible with your computer then they would regain a lot of consumer confidence. Market it as a low-cost computer for the family and a gaming console all in one with 2 cords and set hardware and you'd be competing fiercely.

I know this isn't just an Xbox issue, but the whole micro transaction thing needs to stop.
Games used to actually feel like a reward for playing them. Games used to award certain special items for doing different things or completing certain objectives.
Games need to go back to rewarding the hard work. The Grid if you want to call it that
