How Quadcopter Crash Footage CRASHED Final Cut
video description
I know they are different programs and situations but, who knows, if a player can handle the file and show it on screen, one way or another, it's able to read that file so, other programs should as well.
I guess FCP wants to read the corrupted part at all costs and the player just Keeps calm & carries on; -)

. avi containers are really old and terrible, and corrupted footage within them can lead to major problems. I usually import everything as is into FCPX, with two exceptions: If someone gives me an. MTS file from an AVCHD container without the metadata parts or if I get an. avi of some sort.
I actually wrote a free programm called Video Container Switcher GPL that does nothing but exchange the container (e. g. to. mov) without touching the codecs inside, so lossless. :)

The screen capture fix was what I was thinking before you said it. It was a very useful video, Griffin. The college I work at just ordered a Phantom, so we're looking forward to working with it and using it for our videos. Should be great for promotional work. We are also a bit concerned when filming around the town about legal issues or privacy issues in case some folks don't want their business or home featured.

This happened to me once in high school. Well the clip was just of a fake interview where the guy gets mad and attacks us so he so he kinda lightly slapped the camera and it wouldn't export and my teacher claimed it was cause that slap messed it up so bad that it couldn't export. I thought he was just making shit up and didn't know any better cause he really doesn't/didn't but I guess it was true.

I HAVE BEEN IN THIS EXACT SAME SITUATION. Yes, a file was damaged. The trick? Do an uncompressed raw export of the project. Master File. It should complete without an error, though, the file will be HUGE. So, send it to compressor. This has worked for me more than 3 times when I got a Quicktime error 50 so I'm pretty sure it should work.

LOL. Really using Final Disaster is for freshies out of film school who are into drama. I hire editors to work on short films and business productions. I cannot afford the downtime and people wailing about camera codecs. So I hire only Sony Vegas Pro or Premiere Pro ONLY.

Can anyone help me? I'm working in Premiere Pro and on the last frame of each clip, all the effects shut off. Color Correction, Horizontal Flip, everything. I need this video done by friday and I can't figure out why this is happening. If anyone knows, please help me!

You might have tried using a file converter program such as HandBrake to convert the. avi to something else. There's a chance it could have converted it without the corrupted data. or it could possibly have made a copy that was even worse, but totally worth a shot.

I haven't been able to use ISHOWU for some time now. It just renders and renders and never finishes. Emails to support never get answered. And I paid for this. So now I use Quicktime Screen Recording, and it works fine and is free.

Hey Griffin, I have a 1 minute solution.
AVI files are actually great, 99% of the time if they give you a problem just strip, and rebuild the index using DivFix or similar and the file will be good as new.

Have you thought about exporting your main headline feature footage (eg: The Quadcoptor) then import that footage into a New FC Project and edit around with your Camera & Film News etc?

I've experienced this (and similar issues) as well. I usually pass it to HandBreak (free and awesome) adjusting as as many settings to max bitrate. mp4. It works when I'm in a pinch.

Also, Griffin. I highly recommend Adobe Premiere. Final Cut Pro X is just maddening. I enjoyed the old studio, I feel like it went down the drain with this newest version.

When you get corrupted footage, I just convert it with MPEG Streamclip and it almost always works out! It has saved my ass countless times.

Nice job with the workaround. High tech, best practices, and all that other jazz seems to evaporate in the name of innovation or necessity.

I've had Quicktime error -50 several times. It's so annoying. I've actually had to redo projects because I tried hours fixing it.

What kind of video lights would you recommend for an amateur videographer with a budget, but still looks professional an not to ghetto?
