The cast hated the Joey/Rachel relationship
I didn't like it for two reasons.
1. They had Joey actually fall in love with Rachel instead of just having a (fleeting) crush. Which ultimately left him feeling lost, heartbroken, and alone. He really deserved to end up with someone.
2. For. The. Love. Of. God! they should've had Ross actually propose to Rachel in season 8 or 9
And my final thoughts, it would've felt less like an ending, and more of new beginnings if they were all starting something new or different.
Chandler and Monica moved away.
Ross could've been offered a more classes at a different College.
And Joey could've gotten a lead role over in queens.

Watching Friends new all these years on, must be different to when it was released with public response at that time. Objectively, all these years later, Monica and Chandler and Joey are the body of the show - with Ross and Rachel story and def Phoebe, by-lines around the core of it - thought they all did a great job, even the Rachel Joey story done so well! After Rosss idiocy, and 6 year gap, Rachel after having bub would definitely enjoy the ease and comfort of Joeys adoration and moral support. People were too influenced by the previous storylines but now years later, easier to see time would change them.

Watching Friends new all these years on, must be different to when it was released with public response at that time. i LOVED the rachel/joey relationship but i also think it was good to show that two friends can end up liking each other but its not gonna always work out. its realistic. plus the part where rachel was like why can chandler and monica do this? and then joey said maybe theyre not as good friends as we are. literally breaks my heart everytime i hear it because you can sense that they really wanted the relationship to work out.

i was the biggest shipper of joey and rachel they were amazing together the writer just made there relationship awkward but if they waited a bit the relationship would have been less awkward which is exactly what ross and rachel had to do, and i thought it was really unfair that joey and rachel werent together because ross didnt like it

Every time I finish the 10 seasons, I always have this feeling, and on about my 3rd time watching the series I realised its my brain saying 'OK well that was fun. Let's browse through Netflix see what's on. Oh looks like there isn't anything on. Hey how about friends? ' then everyone in the house gets mad at me for watching it again

Am I only the person who actually couldn't stand Monica after the first few seasons, her competitiveness against ross was relatable as brothers and sisters are often are with each other, but it slowly to seeped into everything she did, when that happened Monica's appeal as a character very quickly died.
