Mojo can never get a list right! Why on earth would they put St. Mungos at number 1, when almost none of the info is all that substantial to the final book & movies! The Gaunt Memory not only shows important info about Voldemorts lineage, but also showcases 2 Future Horcuxes! How TF does that memory only get an honorable mention when by any metric, it shouldve been at least in the top 3, if not number 1! And to top it all off; Dumbledores explain it all speeches at the end of GoF & OotP being reduced to practical uselessness in the movies doesnt even get an honorable mention! Do they intentionally do this just to infuriate actual fans!

I don't know exactly what it's called but I always wanted Nearly Headless Nick's storyline to be more elaborate. I believe it was in Chamber of Secrets when he and Harry went to the Headless birthday party. It was an unimportant scene but this and the absence of Peeves makes me sad since I really wanted to find out more about the ghosts' storyline. Also, I think in the book it was explained how one becomes a ghost or a painting after dying, I really liked that part and it gave a whole new layer to every ghost and painting since all of these people had a reason why they wanted to stay on the Earth.

The whole battle of Hogwarts was totally different. No giants, houselves, dragons, centaurs, etc.
I wish they would have included the scene with McGonagall in Ravenclaw tower.
Also, the beginning of Goblet of Fire with the Weaselys meeting the Dursleys, Bill meeting Harry, the Weaselys, Harry, and Hermione sitting in the good seats at the world cup, and the muggles who ran the campsite. and later in the book, Molly and Bill visiting Harry for the family day.
Tonks was my favorite and she was underutilized in the movies. She was at Hogwarts a few times in the sixth book

Goblet of fire world cup Quidditch. Harry and the weasleys in the seats with the minister for Magic. We meet Draco's mother for the 1st time, Winkey is keeping a spare seat, while shaking as she's scared of heights, and the leprechaun show before the match. I would have loved to have seen them.
Plus winky getting fired/freed because the guy in the empty seat was really an invisible Barty Crouch jr, who escaped thanks to stealing Harrys' wand!

The part to where Ginny took Harry's place as seeker for the Gryffindor Quidditch team was true because in the video game adaptation it did that after Harry casted the Sectumsempra spell on Malfoy in some random bathroom at Hogwarts, Snape came in to check on Malfoy and asked Harry on where he learned that spell and Harry gave no answer. So Snape decided to suspend Harry from the Quidditch team and served detention for what he did.

There were many good things in the books that were left out, but Harrys and Voldies end battle in the movie were annoying. Clearly someone wanted to push the limit for what cool special effects they had access to instead of going with the actual story.
No witnesses to his death was really bad but other parts too like Harry being able to grab Voldie and pull him with him and still live to tell the tale.

What about the Quidditch world cup?
And when Mr. Weasly comes thru the fireplace to meet the Dursleys? (Where they destroy their living room lol.
And when DUMBLEDORE meets the Dursleys?
And ummmm Ginny's character in general. Movie version Ginny is terrible. Ginny was actually one of my favorite characters when I read the books. but in the movies, she was different (and not for the good!

It is definitely a good thing the SPEW plotline wasn't included. The entire subplot is about how it's OK that the house elves are slaves because they like being enslaved and Hermione is being an idiot to try to free them. Dobby is considered an outlier among the elves and the only lesson the books end up promoting is treat your slaves better. It's very obvious why this was dropped.

If there was one thing that should have been mentioned more in the movies it is The Prophecy. The books go into it in such great detail but the movies hardly go into it which is a shame. It's a central part of the series and it would help the fans who haven't read the books better understand the series. Without The Prophecy there would be no Harry Potter

They don't make Ginny and Harry's kiss in the Common Room in the movie but they do to Ron and Lavender's? I don't get it. They should've at LEAST put in the main characters second kiss (but most important) He married her later. And what about their second kiss in Ginny's bedroom on his birthday that was interrupted by Ron and Hermione? ANGER

Professor Dumbledore's funeral wasn't in the movie and it should of been and at the end when Harry just breaks the elder wand and throws it in the moat instead of what should of happen, Harry repairing his own wand, the one he preferred and then returning to Dumbledore's tomb that always bothered me and made me angry

The thing is --- the late, great Rick Mayall was cast as and filmed as Peeves - all his scenes were cut out early on so, as far as I know, there is no version that features him. Not only is this a shame --- this is a mistake that cannot be corrected, at least not by Mayall himself. It is too late.

Another name for this title is top 10 reasons why I am looking forward to the HBO Max remake.
Edited; Also, House Elves were not mistreated in Hogwarts. The purpose of S. P. E. W was to remove House Elves from their one purpose of life, not improve it which is something Hermonie should have done.

Im glad I finally read the books after growing up with the movies. They are 100% better. I understand you can only fit so much in a two-hour movie but so much is left out & thrown together, especially in the order of the Phoenix and the half-blood prince. I really wanted to see more of Voldemorts past.

Not bad MsMojo! Although I must say the movies are still BRILLIANT! They did a great job all around and crammed a whole lot of story and detail into them all the same. My favorite bit from this List would be Dudley's goodbye. Would have liked to see that in the Theatrical Version.

What also should have been in the movies is the obstacles in the maze (4th book, Harry Potter & the goblet of fire. for example 1) Sphinx with it's riddle, 2)Blast-ended screwt & Aragogs offspring. Also, the fight after Dumbledore dies (Hagrid & Mcgonagall fighting/being attacked.

I would've loved the S. P. E. W. in the movies. In the Dutch books, it was called Stichting(Foundation) Huiself (Houselve) voor Inburgering (for Integration) en Tolerantie (and Tolerance)
It was already a bit cheeky in the books, but now imagine that in the movie! :D

The moments I was most sad about not making the movie were the Harry and Dudley convo at the end and Nevilles backstory but tbh all the moments mentioned in this video as well, I just prefer the books over the movies so much.

YES! PEEVES! He should have been in the movie. Rik Mayall filmed all his scenes for the first movie but it was cut out of the movie. They don't even have the deleted scenes in the extras. I want those scenes

Also about the scene in The Order of The Phoenix where Harry asks Headless Nick if there was a possibility of Serious's coming back even as a ghost and the afterward conversation with Luna Lovegood.

I'm sorry but I hated SPEW and Peeves and I'm glad they left it out. I wish they would of included St. Mungo's Hospital though, Neville visiting his parents would have been amazing to see.

Only the Malfoy House's House Elves are mistreated (and likely in other ill-tempered Houses as well. House Elves live to serve, and without doing so, they live without purpose.
