While I appreciate that this list wasn't 100% dominated by Disney and had quite a bit a variety, I do have to knock it for its distinct lack of Anime Movie Musicals, specifically Mamoru Hosoda's Belle (2021.
Belle is an absolutely breathtaking re-imagining of the Beauty and the Beast story that focuses on a High School Girl who essentially becomes a worldwide online superstar while irl dealing with the unreconciled trauma of witnessing her mother dying in an accident in the process of saving another person's life as a kid.
Every song in the film is an absolute banger and helps communicate the overall story of the film in a powerful way. U, Gales of Song, and Lend Me Your Voice are all extremely high quality songs that can go head to head with any Disney or Pixar tracks but the really kicker is the absolutely breathtaking A Million Miles Away climax, which absolutely left me in tears. I legit cried as hard during that sequence as I did for Miguel in Coco.

I changed Moana to Tangled, but the rest it's good. I didn't know just Moana is only Disney animation, especially about princesses which It's hard for me to digest it. Maybe because of Maui and his terrible vocals song. Sorry, but I couldn't get it! And Moana is so a boring person! There is nothing special in her. She like Ariel on the land. Sorry I know it's only my personal opinion, people can like those characters. But I truly love Moana's grandmother ( I can't remember her name. For me she the best grandma ever. And Moana's parents and pets. Especially Pua(this sweet piggy. I hope that Disney does a continuation of this movie so we can see more about Pua lovely moments.

Encanto is overrated, theyre talking about great characterizations but honestly, none of the characters are actually interesting. The main antagonist is such a Cunt, and the main character is so bland and forgettable not to mention the fact that they basically demonize one of the people of the household, and he supposed to just forgive them.

I like all my favorite animated musical in recent memory on TV or on Netflix or on Hulu or on Disney Plus or on the DVDs like Trolls and Steven Universe The Movie and The Book Of Life and Over The Moon and Sing and Guillermo Del Toro's Pinocchio and Frozen and Moana and Encanto and Rio 2 and My Little Pony The Movie and Soul and Coco
reply

212: Im loving the recognition that Steven Universe The Movie is getting. I didnt grew up with it but from my curiosity, I watched the whole series and the movie. I just love the songs. Happily Ever After, Independent Together, True Kinda Love and Who We Are are my favorite songs

Encanto should be lower on the list. Her family was terrible to her, when they should have loved her. Coco is a gem, though. My favorite is Tangled. Animal side kicks who DON'T talk, great songs, a real, wicked villain, and the boy sacrifices his life to save the girl.

The scene shown at the beginning - from Coco - gives me anxiety every time I see it. When Miguel jumps onto the wooden cover of the well, there is a slight bounce in the wood (gorgeously animated) and it makes me think he'll fall through. every. single. time.

I like TROLLS, THE BOOK OF LIFE, and the honorable mention of RIO 2. I also love TROLLS WORLD TOUR, GUILLERMO DEL TOROS PINOCCHIO, MOANA, ENCANTO, COCO, and the honorable mention of SOUL.
However, I dont think COCO and SOUL are musicals!

218: EEE! I love My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I was over the moon that it got a theatrical movie trailer. The cast is great, the animation is flawless and I just love the songs even having Sia in the soundtrack
reply

So glad Book of Life made it on this list! Fantastic movie that is definitely underrated! I also adore Moana, Trolls, and the Sing movies. And I appreciate the nod to Rio 2. Really good list this time!
reply

anything Lin-Manuel Miranda writes turns to gold (Moana and Encanto, i still hope he gets his Oscar for The Little Mermaid to complete his EGOT #GiveLinHisOscar
i also loved both Sing movies

reply

214: Now thats theres a Disney 100 trailer logo, you can see the pride lands and Elsas snowy mountains on the left and right. The Lion King took the spotlight in 1994 and Frozen in 2013. King and Queen
reply

it has to say something about the Mexican culture and connection to music that two made it to this list. add in the rest of the latino culture, and you have encanto at number 2.
reply

I'd never put _Rio 2_ on this list. The movie is terrible compared with the original! But I am so glad that _Book of Life_ is included, cause it's severely underrated.
reply

Most of these aren't musicals by definition. (At least 60% of run time devoted to musical tracks) The only Disney one is Coco. but that's because it revolves around it.
reply

209: I heart Sing. Although in 2016, there was a theater with no eating or no drinking but the movie was worth it. I even loved the sequel in 2021. Also, I love this cast!
reply

My favourite animated movie musical is The Loud House Movie with songs performed by Asher Bishop as Lincoln, David Tennant as Angus and Michelle Gomez as Morag
reply

216: At first, I didnt think I was going to like Moana but now I love the movie. Not to mention, Im a Dwayne Johnson fan and Jemaine Clement voicing a villain
reply

To me personally Encanto had to be number 1! Every single song on it was AMAZING! Followed by Coco as number 2, Frozen as number 3, Moana 4, and Sing as number 5
reply

Jack And The Cuckoo-Clock Heart. The whole entire score for the movie was taken from a concept album! The animation is stellar and unique.
reply

WHAT IS THIS PERFECT TOP 3!
Also, one special mention on my behalf to one of the most underrated animated movies of all time: Vivo!

reply

Why Did Emily From Msmojo Include Trolls and Sing, Their AVERAGE! And I bet Emily Brayton from Msmojo Loves Frozen for some reason?
reply

I would have a hard time choosing between Coco and Encanto both have amazing soundtracks that represent their culture flawlessly
reply

How is Vivo not on the list? That movie also has damn catchy songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda and actually has a very enjoyable plot
reply

210: Oh, WatchMojo, you have no idea what my dads reaction looked like when Seth McFarlane sang My Way. His jaw was on the floor
reply

The top Best Animated Movie Musicals of the Last Decade that I recognize and enjoy watching are Sing, Frozen, Moana and Encanto
reply

When I first saw Moana, I was so expecting to see Dwayne Johnson perform You're Welcome! Was bummed that its wasn't nominated.
reply

211: Id say I like it. Guillermos take on Pinocchio is amazing. I was blown away by his work. I did like the songs for sure
reply

I'm happy that, coco was number one. Because it's probably one of the best musical's Disney has ever made in my opinion.
reply

208: WHOO HOO! I enjoyed Over the Moon on Netflix. Thanks to the amazing voice of Philipaa Soo, I bought two songs
