I still say the Muppet Treasure Island soundtrack is underrated. Shiver My Timbers is right up there with Scrooge as one of their best opening songs (I also think it’s one of the best pirate songs ever written, both in terms of the melody, the pounding rhythm, and the lyrics, Cabin Fever is quite possibly the most infectious song (other than Manamana) ever performed by the Muppets, and Love Led Us Here is such a gorgeous, powerful ballad.
Another super-infectious song: the Bunny Picnic theme! Every now and then, I still get the Hello sunshine, hello birds on the wing lines, as well as the earworm supreme Hop! Hop! Hop! Hop! stuck in my head out of nowhere. I swear, this little special needs to be released on dvd just so more people can enjoy this song!

Forget You performed by the chickens should have at least been in the honorable mentions! The Muppet Show opening theme should have been in there too!
And I agree, The Muppets Christmas Carol with Belle’s song still in there has to be the best version of the story! I have yet to see a version that tops it! Maybe the old Mickey version comes as an entertaining and nostalgic second. The Muppet version might be child friendly and silly, but I think Michael Caine’s performance is the most authentic performance of that character. And I think his authenticity brought out the authenticity in the voice and puppet performances. It was so well balanced between dramatic, musical theatrics, and silliness. Absolutely incredible and underrated adaptation!

Meet the Vikings, those ruthless marauders who earned the title Worst Human Beings in History--
(Swedish Chef loses it)
Ladies and gentlemen, the Vikings, those quaint, fun-loving old charmers!
Of COURSE Rainbow Connection had to be #1. There was never any question. But jeez, how do you narrow such a list down to 10 Almost any Muppet musical number would deserve at least an Honorable Mention.

Number one is a give in. Simply perfection.
But my own personal picks would also have to include Happiness Hotel, I’m Going to Go Back there Some Day & Saying Goodbye, the latter because I dare you to find a kid growing up in the 80s that didn’t have an emotional gut punch whenever they heard it.
My own daughter broke down in tears when she heard it the first time last month.

Of course _Rainbow Connection_ is number one. The list would be wrong if it wasn't.
I don't know how you kept it to 10. I could probably come up with that many just from The Muppet Show.
I would love to have seen _Can You Picture That_ here.
Looks like I'm going to have to spend a few days with all the Muppet movies. I've never seen Treasure Island. I need to fix that.

How about the Muppet Show Theme
It's time to play the music
It's time to light the lights
It's time to meet the Muppets on the Muppet Show tonight
It's time to put on make up
It's time to dress up right
It's time to raise the curtain on the Muppet Show tonight
As for the greatest Muppet ever That's easy. It's Gonzo the Great. It's in his name. LOL

I would include the Muppets singing Just One Person. It was Jim Henson's favorite song, and they framed the scene as the Muppets reading letters that were sent in after his death, with the first appearance of Kermit (who had been missing from the episode) reassuring children that he would still be there. If you want a good cry, that's the one to watch.

I think the number during Muppets Take Manhattan with Miss Piggy dreaming about she and her friends as babies in the nursery and singing I'll Always Love You describes her feelings and crush on Kermit no matter what age. That number alone was how Muppet Babies became a popular cartoon series, the only one I really got into for Saturdays.

My thoughts on this list are that a Top 10 is not nearly a long enough list. Man or Muppet is great and all, but Pictures in My Head doesn't get nearly enough love. Somebody's Getting Married, I'm Going to Go Back There Someday, Life's a Happy Song, I Hope That Something Better Comes Along, Bohemian Rhapsody, Danny Boy.

I think that they should have separated the movies and the television shows. There are just too many great musical numbers in both. I used to sing allow to songs on The Muppet Show with my older daughter. I think that they could increase this to 20 from the movies, and probably as many from various Muppet shows.

I saw The Muppets as an adult with my young nephew and loved that movie. I found out later that someone I worked with also loved the movie. In particular, Man or a Muppet. i made a copy of the soundtrack I had for him.
I'm a big fan of 'I'm Going to Go Back There Someday' myself

Muppets Tonight Garth Brooks and the Muppets singing We Shall Be Free. Great as a standalone but the episode’s running gag is also Garth wants to have fun with the Muppets and do a variety show and all the network wants is for Garth to perform one of his songs on Muppets Tonight.

I’m Gonna Always Love You is one of my tops. It introduced the Muppet Babies and I begged my dad to let me watch the movie again just for that song. But, Muppets’ Christmas Carol and John Denver Christmas are beyond top tier. The both soundtracks are my number 2 & 3.

Welcome to my nightmare and You and Me are absolutely tops! I was already a fan of the Muppets, watching every single show (and Sesame street from the time I was born, but this show turned me on to the inimitable Alice Cooper, and let my parents know he wasn't all bad, lol.

Do you know in my head when I’m singing along to man or Muppet in my head it usually goes man or monster especially when a guy like me hasa lot of inner demons not to mention 15 years worth of his favorite genre of music under his belt a. k. a. the blues

When you first said sorry for getting this song stuck in your head referring to Mehna Mehna, I immediately started commenting don't ever apologize for getting such a fun iconic song stuck in our heads. Then I laughed when you took back the apology LMAO

I'd consider Happiness Hotel an honorable mention. Our three intrepid reporters are lucky to find a place to stay while on assignment in London despite the place's flaws which the manager and tenants gleefully sing about.

Mah Na Mah Na is the character's name as well as the name of the song. Bipbopadotta was the Sesame Street equivalent of Mah Na Mah Na. While visually similar, Bipbopadotta sang full song lyrics rather than just one phrase.
