Until they’re not. Pits can be SO adorable, but over 800, 000 people a year in the US must get medical attention due to dog bites, and according to the CDC, over 60% of deaths by dogs are caused by pits even though they make up only 7% of the US dog population.
Please research and look at both sides.
The majority of maulings, and the nightmare plastic surgeries that follow, are also caused by pits more than any other breed, and they do the worst damage. Plastic surgeons are speaking out.
No other breed attacks as horribly and devastatingly as the pit bull.
They are bloodsport dogs and were bred to attack ferociously. It’s not their faultit’s the fault of those who bred them, but nevertheless, this makes them very dangerous.
Dogs bred to herd instinctively herd.
Dogs bred to retrieve instinctively retrieve. Dogs bred to attack, instinctively attack.
They are not the average domesticated dogwith their attack instinct, they’re more like owning a tame mountain lion, and you never know when they’ll give into that instinct.
It’s playing with fire, and too many people get burned.

I am so sorry about the loss of your son. I would like to believe that your son is watching out for you. Prince is an amazing baby and he knows you need love and affection, so he is doing his best to help heal you with all the power his has.
