I remember reading an interview with Joe Dante where he brings up his nervousness when Steven Spielberg approached him about doing a segment of the Twilight Zone movie he was producing. Dante was nervous, having directed the Roger Corman produced Piranha, which was somewhat influenced by Jaws.
Dante said something along the lines of, But I made a 'Jaws' ripoff.
To which Spielberg supposedly replied, No. You made the BEST 'Jaws' ripoff.

Amazing video watch mojo of copycat horror movies, fantastic job. I love the cave remember everything about the movie even the ending, love every characters and the creatures in the movie too. The truth I never saw any of the descents movies, if I did saw it would not remember anything about it or care too. I would love a sequel ghost ship, dead silence also the cave probably a remake or reboot to the movie too.

It’s just called band waggoning’, e. g. Star Wars - Battlestar Galactica, Knight Rider - Street Hawk, Blue Thunder - Airwolf etc. Even when it’s just the genre that’s popular, e. g. Star Wars was popular, quick, drop For Your Eyes Only and get Moonraker out, (The end of The Spy Who Loved Me states James bond will return in For Your Eyes Only’ and it was Moonraker that was released.

Well-known F. N. a. F. fact (it’s kinda relevant, don’t worry lol): The F. N. a. F. 1 jumpscare sound effect actually came from Inseminoid, just search up Inseminoid scream and you can find it. It’s like dead-on, like it sound so unreal It might just an Alien copycat movie, but it just created an iconic sound that will be reused in 33 years

i totoally agree with your number one pick. I saw Piranha before i saw Jaws so perhaps i am a little bias, but it doesn't change the fact that Piranha still stands as a terrific film. So thank you for highlighting here AND making it your Number One.

Pretty good copycat movies. Intruder, Beyond the door, Decent, Inseminoid looks like pretty good copycat. Demon Wind vs Evil Dead. Grizzle looks good too. Jaws is legendary! In every way. Piranha looks like pretty good copycat. Great video

I wouldn't say they're copycats I'd say they movies that came out 1st inspired the ones that came out afterwards it's ok to have the same idea as long as you change concepts of monsters and plot.
