If you want a stronger onion flavor, try sauteeing chopped shallot in the sesame oil, then mix that oil (after straining out the chopped shallot) with enough flour to make a runny paste and then spread that paste onto the pancake, sprinkle with chopped green part of scallion, roll up, etc like he shows and then cook it. Use the sesame oil though. It has a very good flavor and makes the best pancakes. WalMart sells it in their Asian food section.

This reminds me of what Jamaicans call fritters, except, some people add shredded salted cod (soaked over night) along with the green onions (green and white part. And it is made like a regular pancake with a runny batter with all the ingredients added to the runny batter, mix, then fry. No rolling pin, and no sitting.

This recipe looks about right, except I feel animal fat is missing. I used to eat this all the time in China where they would make in a barrel like naan. I best one I ever had had beef in it. It was so good Anyways, I appreciate the video and was thinking of trying to make this with a wafflemaker for my wife.

Fabulous, I love Scallion Pancakes I saw another YouTube video by Brothers Green where they used the left over from feeding a sourdough starter for making scallion pancakes. With the Chef John method, and the sourdough starter idea, I'm going to tear this up. Thank you

I made your pumpkin cinnamon roll recipe last night (I put maple extract in it with the vanilla - they were delicious. and whipped up a batch of this dough while I was at it to sit in the fridge overnight. I cant wait to finish it up for a late breakfast

Also great dipping sauces are Chinese sweet chili (Thai sweet chili is also good) or sweet soy sauce, and don't shy away from giving it a good crack of black pepper before or during the cooking. Very much a popular street food in Taiwan.

So, at first I really hated the way you talk. Then I started to get used to it and decided that I kind of like it. Now that I've had some time to think about it, I've decided that I hate the way you talk. That pizza looks good, though.

I really liked this Back in Indonesia I used to eat this with Rendang. Rendang is one of the most delicious food in the world, full of flavor, savoury and a bit spicy, originated from Indonesia. You should definitely try it
