Learn how to make Celery Sorbet Don't worry, it only sounds like a stupid idea Celery sorbet is shockingly delicious, beautiful to look at, and very, very refreshing FemaleF0rSale: I just made this celery sorbet and I really like how light and fresh it is although I have to say that it is too sweet for my taste. Next time Id use more lime and less sugar but overall it is a really refreshing treat that I can only recommend you to try. Also I have to say that I didnt have as much celery as Chef John so I had to adjust the ingredients and since I live in germany where we (or at least I) dont measure stuff in cups I had to calculate around and maybe made a mistake and thats why it came out sweeter than it should. And also I dont have an ice cream machine so I used Chef Johns Granita method. Nevertheless very refreshing and even though you can definetly tell thats its made from celery with the sugar and the lime you get something very mild and, if you couldnt tell by now, very refreshing. If youre still not convinced think about it that way: when making a bolognese you also put some celery in there and even though the sauce doesnt taste like celery it would not be as good if the celery wasnt there. So I guess celery on its own is pretty lame but it enhances the flavor of other good things.

Could I juice the celery and then add the simple syrup? Or does some of that fiber that makes it past the straining process need to be in there? p. s. Yesterday would have been the last times you heard someone say, Man, I could really go for some celery, as I was hunting for some veggies to dip in my hummus. No joke

Wow I made this today. Amazing I love it. I must admit I really don't like sweets or ice cream. Yeah I'm weird. This sorbet is the perfect dessert for me. Now I'm wondering what other vegetable sorbets I can make. hmmmm. Avocado? Rhubarb? Thank you thank you thank you for this.

Just made this. I'm not entirely sure what to say about it. Personally I liked it okay, but I must admit that it tasted pretty much as one could expect. Sweet celery with a twist of lime. It was nice and fresh but the other reviewers didn't buy this as a desert: )

The puns in your comment section, chef, are fantastic. Interesting recipe. I have to say, I was a bit put off by the title of the video like I'm sure a lot of other people were, but I mean, I'd try anything once. .. maybe twice.

I always add 1/8 tsp guar gum and a little alcohol (if no coworkers or kids are eating) to help the consistency. In this case, I think I would add something neutral like 2 Tbsp vodka. I will have to try it, it sounds refreshing

I actually made this. Sorry to say that I found it disgusting. The only flavor I could taste was sugar, and it was almost as if someone had left wilted lettuce in the sun for 8 days. Not one of the best recipes I've made.

I mean, it's probably really refreshing if it's summertime and you're doing colonoscopy prep. I'll send this to my cousin with Crohns. Not sure if I'll try it myself but why not, your recipes usually turn out really well.

Hrm, new and creative ways to kill me by anaphylaxis. Not even dessert is safe anymore At least you were nice enough to use the leaves as a warning for weirdos like me that are super allergic to celery, Chef John

Great videos but I just can't stand the voice. Well, just how he elevates the sound of the third to second of the last word of every sentence. But. I will certainly try the recipe Thanks for the good content.
