I've never seen a Negroni without Campari (delicious bug juice. I'm assuming that Martini Bitters is some sort of aperitif and different from what I call bitters (e. g, Angostura Bitters. Maybe it's lost in translation. I'll give Jaime the benefit of the doubt, as that looks delicious. (Even though Bombay Sapphire is way too smooth for my palate. I prefer Tanqueray for everyday delicious gin or Junipero or Hendrick's if I'm gonna pay for premium gin. Bombay Sapphire is so smooth/mild it's almost juniper flavored vodka.

I would guess the Martini Brand Bitters resemble Campari, though I'm not sure how well since I've never thought about getting it. I already have Campari and a few other amaros in my cabinet. The orange wedge is really not that weird, Dale Degroff does it too when it's a busy night at the bar. I don't really get where the hate is coming from. Are the Martini bitters that much worse than Campari?

Wrong way to make a negroni, need to put CAMPARI + Gin + Vermute Rosso. Negroni without Campari isn't Negroni. Jamie didn't measured the same quantity of each one. Put orange juice it's a crime, only need to put a orange skin, squeeze it to stract the oil and aroma. Finally twist the orange skin and throw into it. Cheers from Brazil.

Hey Jamie, we like you a lot, but seriously why are you not responding to our question that everyone has asked you? A classic Negroni has CAMPARI -yes, we know Campari is better known as a liqueur, but is a bitter as well. Please respond - we really need to know your thoughts. With much respect your fans. Thank you -

Jamie please, I love your cooking shows, but as a proper bartender, it's embarrassing seeing you trying to tackle cocktails. with your shot glass measuring, stirring with the back of a tablespoon, not knowing the actual history, using the wrong ingredients etc. There are too many reasons why you should stick to food.

People, instead of making up funny names, you should know that there are at least other two well known versions, Americano, which is the original one, with seltz instead of gin, eventually not enough for Count Camillo Negroni, and Sbagliato (which means wrong, with Brut, again instead of gin

Guys, do not worry about putting vodka in there if you don't like Gin. Just double up on the Martini Bitters or Campari, or whichever Bitters you use, and a dash of soda if its not to your taste. Vodka is pointless and doesn't work. Anyone disagrees, I'd be happy to elaborate further.

In the Milan area (don't know for the rest of Italy) you can also have Negroni sbagliato (wrong Negroni) with spumante wine or Prosecco (or other sparkling dry wine) instead of gin. This is good if you want to lower the alcool rate, expecially during the hot season.

IBA specified ingredients of a Negroni: 30ml gin, 30ml sweet red vermouth, 30ml CAMPARI. Specifically CAMPARI, not just any bitter the people doing a product placement for another brand gave you. No CAMPARI, no NEGRONI. Stick to Sunday roasts and sausages Jamie.

Why is almost everyone here complaining about how Jamie s not using the proper ingredients? Specially to those self-acclaimed Bartenders. Guys, A real Bartender is all about innovative and creativity. Etc, Feel so embarrassed just reading through the comments.
