Okay. I'm now now lost. I love the peacakes, but hated the cheesecakes as a kid. I'm from Scotland. WHY is he putting cheese in these? I don't taste cheese in pizelli. Can someone please explain the recipes for both? My Mum is from Valletta and will eat any cheese from the islands, and the ones with black peppers. Too strong for me.

My nanna used to make the best pastizzis. The other Maltese kids would admit hers were better than their nannas' pastizzis. I always wondered what she did differently. My mom finally told me last Christmas that she just used pig lard instead of butter in the pastry. lol

It's great to see Gennaro make pastizzi. Tell me, will any regular puff pastry work for this? I know that the real pastry is derived from a sfogliatelle recipe (or vice versa. But these look like a good cheats recipe.

Gennaro, If I don't like peas, what other filling can I use? I adore your videos! When I see one in my inbox, I ignore all the other e-mail until I watched yours. Love you: )

I enjoyed your version of Sfogliatelle salt, I'll try with other fillings like gruyere cheese and shredded duck drumstick. God bless you Gennaro!

We do them a bit differently than that Gennaro, although you are close, I cannot say that they are the same pastizzi we by in Malta and Gozo.
