The first time I watched this, I thought it was weird and didn't really like it. I loved having cheese in my cheesecake lol. Few months later, I got myself educated and gained some awareness. I have cut out animal products out of my diet for two months now, only the occasional eggs and milk products (I still have those in my home: /) and I so appreciate these recipes! People who go teasing others who don't consume animal protein, be a little more open minded and get yourself educated on why there are a growing number of vegans and vegetarians nowadays, please. We make these recipes because most of us grew up eating the same things you did. and most of us miss the taste of certain foods. I'm not going to lie, they can be delicious. I grew up eating everything and i love making food! It's not like everyone goes vegan because we hate the taste of those animal products or are on extreme diets trying to lose weight. No, most of us do it for ethical, health and environmental reasons. Don't bash us for getting ourselves educated and deciding to do something about it.

Some of the people in these comments are extremely uneducated. For all of you idiots out there, being vegan is an extremely healthy way of eating. There's nothing wrong with recreating animal dishes and turning them into something healthy and humane. Why judge someone who is trying to do the right thing? You sit here and judge us but have you looked at yourself. I'm curious, how healthy are you? How healthy do you think you are? Because the fact is, you probably are over weight, and taking to many medications to even count. It doesn't take a rocket science to put together how bad red meat and pretty much all animals products are bad for. It's bad for the environment and for your health and for the poor animals who don't have any rights to life. So before judging someone who is trying to help the world, take a good look at yourself and ask what am I doing to make this world a better place to live?

Solid recipe, but these guys may not know that you can buy Vanilla Beans - the naturally, fermented Vanilla in whole. Vanilla extract is made from Vanilla Abstract with Ethanol as a catalyst, and Glucose as an additive. If you go through such pains making this cake naturally, you should use natural vanilla and not a chemically refined product. It's so easy to buy and use and your cake is already shedloads more expensive than a regular cheesecake. Interesting recipe, but has anyone tried making this? I might make this some day, but I don't have some of the ingredients around, most of the time. This is surely for special occasions, and I imagine it tastes nice - just not like Cheesecake; )

Forgive me, but this seems pointless. I think some vegan food is very interesting and delicious, but I just don't get the point of making vegan cheesecake, hot dogs, pizza, bread, sausage etc. Pretty much every vegan recipe/product I've tried which is trying to emulate another food ranges between disappointing and inedible (with the exceptions of black bean burgers and anything with coconut milk, both of which are delicious. Wouldn't it be best to enjoy the ingredients in this cake on their own? I feel like lots of the ingredients in this cake would be best enjoyed solely on their own or combine in a very simple way.

I think this recipe looks great, though the title and description are a bit misleading; agave is still by all accounts a refined sugar. If you want to make it a selling point that this recipe contains no added refined sugars, I think it would fit better within your culinary ethos to use a fruit like banana or mango instead. They still contain high amounts of sugar, but they also provide fiber, antioxidants, and other nutrients that can help justify their use in the recipe.

Guys, oats are never gluten free. They can be wheat free but not gluten free since they have a different type of gluten than wheat. If you are avoiding wheat it is OK to have oats but if you have coeliac disease you shouldn't be having oats as it can trigger a reaction in some people. Some oats may claim that they are gluten free due to the difference in flexibility of food standards guidelines (here in Australia oats cannot be called gluten free but in the US they can)

That's brilliant guys! I will give it a try. Im half and half by the way. I'm vegetarian since four years this autumn and vegan like I want to. I mean I definitly want to live that lifestyle like everyday but I'm a student and the most products in that range are so damn expensive so I just make a vegan break sometimes to feel better because I know about the advantages! Greets from Germany: )

The recipe looks amazing, I have to try it! Just one side note - the brand of vanilla extract they used actually has added sugar in it, so slightly contradicting the title ( I know I'm being very picky, but I'm giving up refined sugars for lent so I'm quite mindful of this ) Just settle for a supermarket own brand, I know that Sainsbury's don't add sweetener, apart from that it looks good!

I'm not vegan, but I love the recipe and support vegan lifestyles, despite the negative comments. I don't know why non-vegans are so offended by the video and being vegan? They live the lifestyle that they're the most comfortable with. What does that have to do with you? And if a vegan does get in your face about it, then just ignore them and leave the room.

Okay even if you hate veganism what's the issue, some people might be sensitive to diary or gluten so vegan foods tend to be a good alternative for people with these problems, and it still tastes good! Food is good if you don't want it don't eat it no ones forcing anyone to do anything. Even if this is 'fake' cheese cake it's still very tasty
