Chapssal doughnuts are a modern Korean treat combining traditional Korean rice cakes with Western style deep fried doughnut balls. On the outside the dough is crispy and chewy, and on the inside there's soft, lightly sweet red bean paste.

Hi Maangchi! I just tried this recipe of yours but I put cheese instead and we loved it! however, i just have one question, what do you call the white sauce that is used for dipping sauce? i see a lot of mukbangers dip their cheese balls on that white sauce. thankyou!

Can you omit or replace the tablespoon wheat flour with another flour? I would love to make this treat but my son is very allergic to wheat flour.

Can you use canned adzuki beans to cut the time? How would it change the taste and cooking method? Also I dont have any gluttonous rice flour.

When you coat the outside before frying it with sesame seeds and replace the azuki beans with mung beans, it will be an onde-onde in Indonesia.

Too many steps for not that much (delicious) food, Id use an Instant Pot to save hours of boiling and soaking dried red beans.
