I watched this video and also the video about making the rice with a pot. I have one question, to see if I understood correctly, when doing sushi with pot the water should be 120% of the rice, and when doing it with a rice cooker, it should be 160%. 2nd. About cooling it down, do I really need a fan or plastic piece? or can I just leave it to cool down naturally for some time?

A rice cooker is a uni-tasker and for pussies. Use a standard small pot and fill the water just past the cleaned rice and start to cook it lid on. When it comes to a boil, DO NOT REMOVE THE LID and just turn the stove all the way to low and wait 15 minutes. Turn it off, and wait 15 minutes more. Perfectly cooked sushi rice.

For the people saying that he did not add salt and sugar to the vinegar, that confused me too. The reason he didnt, is because its already premixed. The sushi rice vinegar already have salt and sugar. Now the vinegar that NEEDS salt and sugar is the rice wine vinegar. easy to confuse the two

I'm sorry to ask but. What kind of rice are you using? What's the name? Because I've been learning about Sushi and How to make it and I use Jazmin Rice. But I've just notice (lol) the type of rice is another one. xD And Do you know where can I find it?

My rice caramelises if I don't pull the bowel out of the cooker immediately or at least turn it off: p I guess the warm function is too hot on mine. Although I have had 2 different rice cookers, same problem both times: s

When the water stops being cloudy, it's when the nutritions in the rice have been washed away with the water. I live in Vietnam where we eat rice all the time, and I have always washed the rice twice, to keep the nutritions.

can you give tips for making good sushi rice without a rice cooker? i know they're not that expensive, but my kitchen already is full of stuff, i don't want to add another device that i wouldn't use that often anyway.

Good video thank you! I have a question thought, when I use rice vinegar, it taste really bad and you feel only the vinegar, even If I put less than you, is there a preparation to make on the vinegar? Thank you.

so. i see you made a lot of rice there, you must either eat sushi all day for days on end, or the rice keeps very well without being refrigerated. so, how many days can you leave it out until it goes bad?
