Today I am going to McNuggetfy homemade chicken nuggets. To make these even more like McDonald's chicken McNuggets I will include a homemade sweet and sour sauce. Ingredients 1. 5 lbs (680 g) boneless skinless chicken breast 1/2 tsp onion powder 1/4 tsp white pepper 1/2 tsp salt (I used Trader Joe's Vegan Chicken seasoning blend) 2 tsp low sodium soy sauce 1/2 tsp sugar 2 Tbsp (15 g) cornstarch cooking oil for frying DREDGE 1/2 cup (65 g) cornstarch WET BATTER 1/2 cup (65 g) cornstarch 1 1/4 cups (162. 5 g) all purpose flour 1 tsp salt (I used Trader Joe's Vegan Chicken seasoning blend) 1/4 tsp baking soda 1 1/4 tsp baking powder 1 tsp salt (or spice blend of choice) 1 large egg 1 1/4 cups (295 ml) cold water HOMEMADE SWEET AND SOUR SAUCE 1/2 Tbsp cooking oil 1/4 tsp ginger paste 1 cup (320 g) apricot preserve or jam 2 tsp rice vinegar (or to taste) 1/8 tsp to 1/4 tsp salt (or to taste) 1/2 cup (118 ml) water cornstarch slurry (3 Tbsp cold water +2 tsp cornstarch)

I'm not a McD's person, even though there's one two minutes from my place. But, the tipping point came when a lab published everything in McNuggets---that made me never want to go near those things again. It was why I opted for all breast meat, frozen, cooked and boneless chicken strips I only buy occasionally and on sale. Not the best, but not frankenfood either.

LOL. Oh since I touched it I might as well try that one. Girlfriend, little do you know you have every right to touch and eat ALL of them. Just saying! But on the real real, you always show your passion for cooking and with no doubt the love you have for your family. and I'm still waiting for those adoption papers to be signed. I want to be spoiled too!

Jeez and I thought chicken was expensive here lol the batter is spot on, though. I hate working with tempura batters simply because it s a race against the clock but these are too good to not attempt. McNuggets are literally the only thing I buy from McDonald s on the rare occasions I get to go so this just tickles me to death lol

I was going to give you some crap about your McDonalds Chicken nuggets that are from chopped pieces parts because I figured you were just going to use chunks and then you actually chopped up your chicken parts. just like McDonalds but with all white meat. Yours look better than McDonalds by the way.

Extra sweetness, color and crunch in the crust is produced by some amount of fine cornflake crumbs or fine cornmeal, either in the batter or mixed with bread crumbs for a dry coating. The authentic French frying technique involves two steps and best for a really crunchy crust.

This is cool and all, but I can get nuggets from Mickey's D for like 2 bucks? That pack of chicken was 10 bucks? And way to much time to make them home made. Not for me, but again pretty cool! I mean if someone else made them I'd be more than happy to eat them!

Girl, you never cease to amaze me. I mean I know there are plenty of copycat recipes online but how do you make them look like the real thing? Seriously, the texture alone is spot on.
