Hi mark, I am an Indian, and I have been to Mauritius. We wouldn’t disagree that this is most Indian heavy creole culture across the world because of the history, proximity to India and the majority Indian origin people there. However, neither you nor your guide have been able to highlight this fact till this episode. I was expecting you to highlight that fact cos of your extensive food experiences. Saying unique blend of cultures without mentioning the overwhelming Indian touch is half the story, I suggest choosing an Indian origin guide for a few days will give a more realistic perspective of Mauritius, No sweats, keep doing the good work, I am a big fan

Hello Mark I've been following you for the last 8 years now. Thank you for finally exploring our country. Hope you've enjoyed your stay. You should definitely come back for more.
I hope you've also got the chance to taste the homemade comfort food besides these delicious items.
The locals would know what am talking about: 1 ti bon lentille soi bouillong, chatini pomme de terre, pima cari frire, rougaile, poisson sale etc etc

Wow. When I watched the first vlog I was wondering why u haven't tasted the biryani. but I am glad you did. The tour guide was also doing a great job. So humble. Just enjoying those palatable dishes. Unlike certain guides who are just concerned about nails and hair. Hope u n your family are enjoying your stay here. The biryani was paradise.

food is great, creole means the mix languishes, first people to spk creole are the slave in the plantation, indian and chinese only arrives in the 19th century, the african slavery created the creole all over the world french english patois and portuguese creole specilly the languish

This is an excellent tour! I've never heard of Mauritius before, and I'm in awe of the locals' commitment to proudly claiming their African heritage. The biryani experience was epic! I love how the biryani master poured so much love and skill into his culinary passion!

My boyfriend and his family come from Mauritius and we've eaten every type of Biryani ever but the Mauritian one hits different for sure. It's my favourite, with chutney or achar and a very cold glass of coke. Happy you visited this little paradise Mark.

Your tour guide gets much respect for describing correctly the real meaning of Creole and how we Mauritians are all really this, instead of each community being from only one country and the categories designed to divide. Bravo! Not many people get it.

I think that mountain with the rock is what inspired the Indian Mauritius series Stone Boy which was a classic show. The legend was that this is a boy that was turned to stone due to a curse.

Mark and family in Mauritius and their guide Julien knows the good places to try food. Shakir showed a lot of skill to make the layered biryani, looks so flavourful with tender chicken.
