Looks so yummy So nice to see you try to remake some dishes from your fav restaurants, that's what makes travelling even more fun and meaningful I think: ) I only stopped by BKK when I was 4 years old on my way to Jakarta, where I had lived about 6-8 months while my father worked. I don't quite remember what I ate in Asia, but I love coconut aroma from Thai rice I sometimes cook these days. I love seafood, I think I will try this dish one day. I have cooked octopus but never squid, a bit scary to handle to be honest, but I will give it a try. squid is excellent as an appetizer also. I have not seen shrimp paste here in Guadalajara: ( Possible to make it from Shrimp powder, or would you suggest any other substitute? Thanks x

Been enjoying your japan vlog man. So great i want to go there right away. Anyway i think the squid stood too long in the wok. That residual heat in the oil will cook it even after you move it to the plate. Anyway, that recipe feels amazing. I think some birds eye chili and a squeeze of lime juice sure is nice addition (i love hot and sour foods. I'll try that recipe. Great video man

Hi Mark, this seems to be a wonderful recipe I've got one tip here but I'm not sure whether it would work. In China, we would always add the white part of the spring onion with garlic and black pepper in the first step to bring all the that aroma out of spring onion and add the green part later. I think it might work well here and will definitely try your recipe thx

squid emits the black ink in order to protect itself from enemy threats. that's why the ink sqruits out once you cut the eye. you can actually eat its caviar especially the grilled ones with a dip of chilli sauce. i feel you can also stir fry the caviar if you want to have a bit creamy taste of the dish.
