Crispy Squid in Ao Nang, Krabi (Thai Beach Food)

T-shirts: Thai Food Guides: Ao Nang is one of the major touristy towns of Krabi, located along the coast in the south of Thailand. Theres a beach in-between Ao Nang and Khlong Haeng, and in the day time, there are a bunch of vendors that set up shop across the street from the ocean. They sell a variety of different Thai foods, most of them being deep fried Thai seafood. Youll find fish, squid, shrimp, and some other things as well, all waiting to be ordered and served. Typically, you can get a mat from the restaurant you choose to eat at, and they will set it up by the beach and you can order your food and they will bring it across the street as you sit there and eat. However, this particular day we went, there was a carnival going on, and so they beach was blocked by the carnival so the restaurant had to set up some tables in the grass for us to eat at. So no beachside view this time, but same food, and we were sitting right across the road from the beach. We chose a restaurant called Sakirin Seafood (, located at the end of all the street food stalls. Much of the seafood is covered in a thin yellow batter and deep fried to a crisp and I mean a serious crisp - so crispy it can cut the gums of your mouth crispy The crispy squid and the crispy fish were my two favorite items of this meal. . 10. 00 - 16. 00. 60 50 80 40 150

Mark, that crispy seafoods you ate, you gotta be careful. Its now commons in some countries in SE the seller uses melted plastic bags or candle into the batter in order to make the foods deep frieds stay crispy even its been out for a quite long time. Next time you see foods overly crunchy and its cold cos its been out for a while, please do not take the risks with trying the foods.

that snail dish reminds me on the snails i had in china and vietnam. come to malaysia, mark and try out another snail species called balitung. that snail has a beautiful and colourful shell. it is better to dine underneath a tree especially during hot days. otherwise, we may suffer heatstroke. what kind of beach festival held there, mark?

What does Mark do for a living? I'm in college and I'm curious in how he's able to travel around so many countries and try different foods. YouTube can't be his ONLY source since it costs so much to travel. Sorry if this question may be a bit too personal. I don't know what to be or what to do in life yet.

if you keep making the same face for almost everything you try (the wide closed-lipped smile as you tilt your head and dip downward on that angle with your eyes mostly closed) your viewers cant get a real gauge as to how it actually tastes. you did this very little in this video though

Whoa Mark be careful when under a coconut tree. Those things are known to kill if drop on your head. But looking at the tree, looks like the owner of the restaurant created some shielding for the coconuts not to drop.

I think Mark liked the crispy part of the food he was trying, but made a point about how greasy it was. Then again, that is what the dipping sauces are for. They help cut the oil and grease

Hello Mark and YinThat was really very crispyWas the Crispy Squid and fish served cold? When fried so strong you have to watch, that he was not overcooked and dry. But looked really tasty.
