Pretty funny how everyone is so weirded out in the comments. This woman isn't some -scamming gypsy- (OK well maybe she is seeing as she's a bit too into it and has her own brand of turkish coffee. But, traditionally in Turkish culture, this is what you do when you're done with your coffee. You turn it around, let the residue trickle, and -read- it. You don't need to be some self-acclaimed psychic. It's not serious as this woman is making it out to be. It's always done for fun after family dinners / coffee with friends etc.

What's wrong with people? It's fortune-telling via reading coffee cup? What's the heck is wrong with that? -Live and let others live! -My family like to do it sometimes for fun; it's a cultural thing, and where I grew up, there were always some talented women who knew how to read your fortune or misfortune right. -Every country has this kind of people, no need for this petty hate!

-What's wrong messenger lady? ----My god, Harry. You have. the Grim! - --lol, jokes aside, it looks like most people are getting perturbed over the coffee messenger. Maybe there's a cultural thing behind it? --For me, I would have loved to see more on what makes Turkish coffee what it is; like the addition of cardamom to give it its unique smell and taste.

Why are people hating this video so much? It's a harmless tradition and past time, not an obsession and hardly harmful. The readings are not inherently negative, but nor are they positive. It's like a mumbly version of palm reading, or perhaps more relatable that paper folding game you play in school, or mash; a bit of fun.

People are so harshly against this in the comments - it's true what they say about youtube comments! It's just a video! Lighten up. I liked it! One of my mom's good friends is Iranian - and an engineer - and loves to do turkish coffee reading with us. It's fun and light hearted and a great way to embrace her culture.

I kinda don't like Munchies' followers, They complain a lot and get butthurt about everything. People take this video way too seriously! It is just a little tradition and it's for fun. Western cultures have some really silly traditions too. Stop getting your panties in a twist guys: ')

I believe this is Not a joke and you can see symbols inside the cup. Everyone see it with their own eyes so it is a little Bit using your Imagination. You can see symbols everywhere so please people if you cannot understand then don't judge. Blessings -

Wow i wasn't aware people hate our coffee this much. I'm a Turk and we are doing this with my mom for fun everyday. I know there is a similar -reading- thing with tea in China too. It's just a tradition guys calm down!

It's not just Turks and Greeks, but Armenians too, which is funny cuz we have a deep-seated animosity towards the Turks. It just goes to show that the attractive aspects of culture transcends our conscious views.
