Make Tortillas At Home with Francisco G mez

video description

Rating: 4.5; Vote: 2
Francisco G mez from Todos Los Tacos is at home making tortillas from scratch, and you can do it too. Francisco demonstrates how to make both wheat and corn tortillas, made with humble ingredients and a lot of technique, like nixtamalizing and milling corn for masa, pressing the tortillas, and using a molcajete to make a simple salsa. Mereth: Munchies, if you're going to change what he says in the subtitles, you could at least convert his metric weights to imperial weights, instead of converting to random volumes that aren't even right.
For anyone who wants his original recipe:
250 grams flour
5 grams salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
160 grams hot water

Date: 2020-07-18

He was stating most of the amounts in grams and they just subbed everything as volumetric measurements (cups, teaspoons, etc. The subtitles in these videos are trash honestly. I get that people are more used to volumetric measurements in the US, but converting from weight to volume has a very high margin of error. They could have put the recipe in the video description stating both type of measurements (volume and weight) without the need to twist the subtitles like that

OMG, I live near Chicago. No need to make my own tortillas! I would never want to take jobs away. They are such good quality and fresh daily.
