Finishing Up Our weekly Garden Maintenance! Thursday & Friday Zones! Garden Answer Debbie: From the first video where you explained your zone system of garden maintenance to now I have been inspired. With paper and pencil in hand I thought about all my commitments, divided my lawn and gardens into 5 zones and began the process. It did not end thereif it works for lawn and garden why not in my house! I divided the cleaning of my house into 3 zones, taking again into consideration standing commitments, garden tasks, etc. and love the outcome! Ive always been an organized person but would try to get everything done in one day and be worn out. Thank you for this series and honestly all your videos. No matter what time I eat breakfast you and your family have been my companions throughout the years. I live in Zone 7, have planted many of your suggestions, and will not share my Falcos with my husband (I actually hide them from him. In honor of my new found freedom following your Zone Garden Maintenance System I am ordering him his own Falcos. He thanks you as well!

I just have to say thank you so much for doing this. Viewing my garden as a whole instead of zoned has made gardening so challenging these past few years. Im the only one that gardens and as I keep adding more flowers bed it just has become so daunting. I look at all the things that need to be done in my yard and I get so overwhelmed and not want to do any of it. So my garden hasnt looked the greatest. Having you explain it the way you did totally made sense. Yesterday I was doing some maintenance work in my front yard and I noticed a few other things needed to be done in another part of my garden. I told myself no, finish this area today and tomorrow you can tackle that side of the yard. I was able to focus on one area and now that area is done and I can focus on the other area today. Thank you so much for doing this Im a visual learner and this really helped me to finally understand how my own garden works and I am hoping it will get easier as I go. You are a gem!

Thank you for a good look at your zone method of maintenance. Was it hard for you, at the beginning, to see things that were actually projects and letting them go without touching them? I tried this method for keeping up with my housework before I retired. I found myself seeing things that were really projects and telling myself, Oh, it will only take a minute, and three hours later, finding myself exhausted and frustrated at being behind. If you had similar experiences with your outdoor zone, how did you get past them? What did you do to convince yourself to move on with scheduled work only? I want to try this method outdoors, but worry Ill get into the same situation. Help!

I had no idea you had as many roses as you do! Watching this weeks zone videos I realized you are just covered up in some beautiful David Austins. I knew you had a few around but you have quite a few. I would love to see just some rose videos; like rose tours. I love my roses but I live in the South and I am always fighting issues but I have learned so much about caring for roses from you and this year is the best mine have looked but just for a few weeks and then blahhhhhhh because of all of the rain. I can just live vicariously through your roses. Thanks for all of your hard work giving us videos. We love them.

Im curious about how often you fertilise; I hear you say you fertilise your annuals weekly, is this something we should all be doing (and therefore using the appropriate strength fertiliser) or is it more dependent on where you are, your soil type and how much you water?
I feel terrible that Ive to now only hit the soil prior to planting, maybe once through the growing season and then focused more on watering! Are my poor plants starving?
Sorry if this is a silly question but Im a little new to flowers as Ive relied more on perennial style shrubs, trees and ground covers for years.

I cannot thank you enough for this series. I started your zone system this week, and it is already helping me to stay focused and hopeful that I will get it all under control again. Before it always felt like I would do a little bit all over the place, and I never really got a handle on anything. We live on acreage with very overgrown gardens surrounding our house. As I age, I am finding that I need to find new ways of managing everything. The overgrown aspect is due to when I was younger, I could keep up. That is no longer the case. Your zone method was exactly what I needed. Thank you!

Laura, just wanted to say thank you sooo much for this series! I have a small garden space around my house but I have a tendency to take a day and take it all on in my Florida heat and humidity ugh! And by the time Im done Im exhausted. Than I forget about it for a couple of weeks and than the weeds getaway from me. Its a viscous cycle. This will help me to stay organized and on task. Very helpful. Love all the content that you Aaron and the crew put together!

Hi! Your new system mimics my house cleaning system! I dedicate time each day to specific rooms( ie Monday clean bathrooms (4) top to bottom) and I'm usually done by noon giving me the rest of the day for gardening or crafting! The house is clean by Thursday so my weekend starts on Friday! Since I struggle with weeds on our gravel areas, I would like to see an episode on how you keep up and what you use on weeds. Enjoy your videos!

This was the first year I am so far ahead of my weeds. Normally at this time I am just catching up on weeding from what over grew from n the spring! Doing a little bit regularly really helps. I cant wait until my new perennials grow in as well giving less space for weeds! Laura is the main reason for my garden successes! Thank you Laura! I would love to see more weekly chore videos.

I loved following your weekly zone system. its helped so much for me to organize my daily maintenance routine! Albeit a much smaller area, but the ideas are so useful. However, whats Aarons weekly zone system? Does he have a weekly lawn, arborvitae maintenance, or grass seeding system? just curious! Thank you for sharing these helpful gardening, maintenance ideas.
