Spring was unusual this year with cold temperatures and lots of snow changing overnight to summer temperatures and rapid snow melt causing extensive flooding. I mill spruce and pine logs into square timbers for an outdoor forest kitchen attached to my off grid log cabin. suzanne: We are excited to be able to watch you plan and build your outdoor kitchen. I loved the first one you built, but am happy for you to be able to build this one bigger and even nicer! Yes, we enjoyed watching Callie find her toy today in the snow. She worked very hard to free it from the ice and snow! :) Looking forward to watching your future videos!

A good project would be to build a wood mill house. The way it could work is there would be two items inside: the wood mill itself, and then a simple log trailer that you can easily pull outside, set a log on it, then push the trailer inside adjacent to the wood mill and set the log on there. The advantage is your wood mill would be always set and ready to go. so it would make you more productive on other builds.

Dear Mr. James,
I grew up on a NE Indiana farm, with plenty of woods and creeks, just 2 hrs from Windsor.
Hunting, fishing, and gathering don't impress me, though you are damned competent.
From a farm boy living in Amsterdam, nothing impresses me like your prowess in building.
It is just a wonder to watch you build as our ancestors did. with the same tools that are in dad's shed.

I love the sound of flowing water since I was little kid in Estes.
Summer school outside in the west coast, winters in the Midwest at the far with creek and two small ponds surrounded by waters and winds.
As I age out I begun wondering if I could move into a city or if If prefer to die outside somewhere. maybe allot sooner.

Great music and weather nature river water ice cold moving sequence. Music lends that elegiac feel, the brilliance of nature. Water running! Fresh oxygenated air, water cascading over rock=Oxygen. Waterfalls! Spectacular geological shots of rock strata; the colours. I enjoy the music behind visuals that you set to this video.

Each video you post is so beautiful. Your surroundings and your hard work meshed together with Cali chasing geese! Thank you so much for what you do and for sharing your work and talent with us. Your former outdoor kitchen was amazing, can't wait to see what you will build this time. Once again, thank you.

Hi James, but what do you need to build an outdoor kitchen? Isn t a simple fire enough? It seems to me that you are moving away from the initial and natural spirit of your wonderful adventure. I think you re surrounding yourself with unnecessary superstructures. I am sorry.

Another great video! You are making progress and I know it is going to be a long process but, totally worth it. I was smiling and laughing every time I saw Miss Cali wagging her tail. She is such a joy and is living a wonderful life. Take care, stay safe.

I was really looking forward to this beuld beginning - nice to see now! Tell me something please: Is the water at the end of the video a big lake with sweet water or is that the Pacific Ocean? Greetings from Germany from the silver rox, David

Awesome progress, Shaun, hopefully, someday we will see a small tractor with a front end loader to help you with all that heavy lifting. It Has to be taking a toll on your body. I can t wait to see what all you build in the outdoor kitchen!

I know it seems trivial but you need to build a pole shed to get that mill out of the weather. I realize you are only one man doing all the work but the mill would last longer protected fron moisture such as snow! love to Cali

It is amazing to me to see there is still snow on the ground there. I do not know when you took this footage, however yesterday in Kentucky we had high temps of 88 F, however today since the storm we have had high temps of 61F
