Well sorry you didnt get to poop your pants although I am glad we didnt have to watch that lol. But my main question is WHY you were not throwing the Rage Tail Craw? It pretty much eliminates the short striking you were having. When the bowfin swirl on it instead of exploding on it which they will do sometimes, let them sit with it until they start moving again then stick them. They are a very lazy fish most of the time.

If want to really slay some bowfin, head down to the okeefenokee, if you how down and use spinner baits along the Lilly pads.
I caught probably 15 in two days, and broke off about 10. Some were massive. There are no bass in the okeefenokee, bowfin are basically the only big fish you will catch with lures

Great footage as usual Robert. Nice that you had the camera rolling for the owl. I remember you squirming with the thought of petting one of my chickens. I know having to deal with an owl on your line wasn't topping your list of catches.

The owl probably seen that frog and thought it was dinner and didn't realize the danger involved. Luckily he got caught up in some of that muck and stayed above water or he might have drowned.

Owls are one of my favorite type of birds lol right behind the Peregrine Falcon(top dive speed 240 mph. That would be a killer top water blow up but lets sticking to feeshing fish not birds!

If there's one thing I hope to never do again, it's hook into a bird. I didn't hook an owl, I hooked a damn Osprey. He thought my whopper plopper was a dying fish. It was a nightmare lol.

I hooked my first bowfin yesterday. I felt the bite on my chatter bait and set the hook hard, when i felt the head shakes i said what is this, this is not a bass lol

never hooked an owl but hooked a Canadian goose once that was trying to eat my bait! he was not hooked bad and got off but still was crazy!
