Just wanted you know I had the same thing happen, except it was The Very Next Cast! Gary Coates and I were paired up in a Bassmaster Club level tournament on the Neuse/Trent rivers in NC. We were fishing docks. Gary had been wearing them out with a grape straight worm with a pink dot on the tail, (locally made. I cast under a particular dock and got absolutely slammed. It ran deeper under the dock, and cut me off on the barnacles. Gary cast deep under there, immediately got hit, and pulled out a 6lb, 4oz bass with my Toledo Tackle Tequila Sunrise worm and about 3 ft of line still attached.
Considering I had brought those worms up to NC with me when I moved here from Louisiana the year before, and there was nothing like it in the Carolinas 20 years ago, we both knew it was my worm!
More amazing was, his very next cast, Gary got broke off under the very next dock. He retied another grape worm with a pink dot, and on his very next cast he caught a 2 lb 8 oz bass with TWO grape worms in it's mouth!
BTW, Gary Coates won the tournament that day. He was my boss, my friend, and taught me a lot about fishing in the Carolinas. Sadly, he is gone now, but my memories of him live on!

i hate not having a scale. i got some alright fish last year but no idea the weights. even got a nice fat one beg of this year. though he was short. i have no idea what my pb is lol. man catching them quick in texas in a cold month. you def know the area. i always think there is huge bass in prob every water with them. people just dont understand you have to put in time and get out there and you will land one. nice vid man grats on the fish. im on shore and a noob but the best thing that works for me is to work the bottom and to keep moving around and i usually land more fish that way. im in cali on pressured castaic though so a lot of guys skunk here. but hey thats fishing. i dont mind skunking as long as im out fishing it gives me that chance of landing big fish. cya

I'm looking to start kayak fishing. I live in the Dallas area of Texas. Wanted to know some good lakes to go to. Also what gear to get. I just started fishing two weeks ago and I'm obsessed with it. I want to stop standing on the bank and get in the water. Since I'm a teen with a limited budget boats aren't really an option. I just want to know what rod and reel I should get? What kayak I should get? What line? What lures? Just a basic rundown of gear I need to succeed in kayak fishing.
