Chromecast Review Can A $35 Device Be That Good Thanks for your great videos. I just bought a Sony smart TV that has built in Chromecast. What is the way to connect with my Android tablet with this built in Chromecast Next would I still be able to use our TV remotes if the Chromecast Would the remotes interfere with the Chromecast I am looking forward to your videos in the future.\r\n

Does my actual phone need to be on the same wifi network or can I use my regular data off wifi
I do know that chromecast needs to be on wifi but I was just wondering if my phone had to be on the same network or is it just really the bluetooth feature on my phone that needs to be on

Well in Finland the choice is pretty easy as there is nothing but Chromecast. I have two of them. I got one for my Smart TV as the DVR service I use is not supported by my LG smart TV.
On some TVs you get limited functionality with the TV remote like pause, resume sand stop.

Is there no way to set up Chromecast to work with mobile data, rather than a home router Without using 2 phones I don't have a router. I only use my unlimited mobile data, I'm cheap. This seems like a ridiculous limitation if you can't set it up using mobile data.

I'm powering my chromecast 3rd gen using a ps3 slim front usb port with the ps3 switched on. Apparently the Ps3 usb ports output 5v at 900mA. The official chromecast wall plug is 1A, but the ps3 usb port works fine, so it appears the chromecast 3rdG doesn't require 1Amp.

I have an older TVs from 2010 and 2011 so this works better than my laptop because it's not as bulky to stream. I can also take it with me when I travel. The 2010 TV in our bedroom does not recognize the Amazon stick or Roku so this is another good alternative for us.

I had an original chromcast for years that I haven’t used. Then one day I wanted to start mirroring my gameplay from my pc laptop to my tv. I quickly leaned that my old chromcast could mirror my entire desktop, a feature that had been added since I last used it.

This is possible the worst device ever. Literally, all it does is enable you stream whatever is on your phone, to your tv. You could do that with a Bluetooth dongle.
This means your PHONE has to download all apps and then cast it to your tv. Ridiculous.

I got my chromecast yesterday and it is NOT 'incredibly easy to use. The instructions are incredibly short of content in explaining how to set this up. One more try and if it doesn't get incredibly easier it is going back to Amazon.

I have to have a remote. I tried a chromecast when they first came out but I like having the feel of real buttons and not having to look at a screen especially at night when I can just feel for the button I want to push.

I love chromecast. Still using the 1st gen on a non smart tv in the bedroom. The wife uses it to stream netflix. Video is quality is good (for a 1080p tv) and its nice to not have another remote laying around

The Nvidia Shield is by far the best streaming device... We have a Roku-TCL and we hardly ever use the Roku interface, it turns on directly into the Android/Shield... Plus, it has Chromecast 4K built in!

Can 2 people use one chromecast It's a silly question but I debating on cutting cable but I'm confused.. do I need a chromecast for each person in my house (hubby and I) or is one sufficient

In Europe there is still geoblocking between EU countries. If it's possible, how can I use VPN on the Chromecast device This while using a tablet or phone as a remote device..

Ok so if I have an Xbox setup in one room and another monitor in another room how would I use the chrome cast to stream the Xbox to the monitor in the other room

These filthy bastards did that on purpose and not come with a remote. I was thinking about getting a Chromecast, but looks like I'll stick with Roku

I only own a chromecast and I'm able to do everything I need. For $20 (picked one up for Target at this price) you can't beat it.

It's a piece of crap. Set up is not as simple as been told. Spent hours troubleshooting this crappy piece of android junk.

If you plug Chromecast into an HDMI monitor, does audio come from your phone or does it pair with a Bluetooth speaker directly

Excellent review. I liked how you compared directly with Roku and other similar products in competition. Very helpful, thank you!

I'm using Chromecast to stream Hulu at a second home. This is my first one, everything else is Roku or Firestick.

Can be powered by a tv USB port, hence turns on and off with tv, I have NEVER had to reset mine, very reliable.
