8 Pack vs 6 Pack Abs (THE HARD CORE TRUTH)

your abs will too! That being said, if your body fat is low enough to reveal the abs you have inside then determining whether or not you-re rocking a six or eight pack will depend on a few things. In this video, I show you the two biggest things that determine whether you have six pack abs or eight pack abs. First, your genetic structure of your rectus abdominus muscle is going to play the biggest part. You-ve probably seen all kinds of abs that look slightly different from each other. Some six packs are very thick and prominent while other abs look spread apart. Some abdominal muscles are perfectly aligned while others are uneven and not perfectly symmetrical. The differences in how the abs look, and ultimately the number of -packs- you can see is going to be determined by the formation of the linea alba. This connective tissue acts like a suture that pins down to the tissue below and acts to separate the rectus abdominus into compartments or the washboard that you are familiar with. If the linea alba is thicker than usual, you-ll have more spacing between the visible abs. If the alba is more prominently sutured down, for lack of a better term, then you-ll see deeper grooves between the abs. Of course, this can be influenced a bit by causing abdominal hypertrophy through weighted ab workouts as well. Whether or not the lower two, or 8 pack abs, show is going to be determined solely by the fact of the presence or absence of the linea alba extending down below the belly button. In most people, it does not. In some however, this connective tissue extends down and acts to further separate the abs into two more -packs- so to speak. Of course, that body fat better be really low if you want to see this since this is the first place guys tend to put on fat when they accumulate it on their body. Regardless of what ab workouts you-re following, if you want the lower two abs to show you better be doing some focused lower ab exercises as well. Due to the different nerve innervations that act to serve the abdominals, you can influence portions of the abs more than others (never isolate) based on the direction of the movement you-re doing. Top down ab exercises tend to hit more upper ab fibers while bottom up ab exercises tend to hit more lower ab exercises. He is speaking to the general audience and I-m lucky to be an outlier here! I guess having a hyper metabolism isn-t such a bad thing. All I did at the gym was hang from the monkey bars and raise my legs perpendicular to my torso for 5 seconds, 3 sets and almost instantly I saw the 7th muscle, of my future 8pack, emerge below my belly button! I also do muscle shredding which is an extreme form in which you do not need weights. I-m relatively knew to muscle shredding but it is a very interesting topic. You do not need weights and the gains are super fast. If anyone can relate to this please don-t be shy to respond.

being a skinny dude i noticed my rib cage rite below my peck on the right side sticks out about a quarter inch more then the other so it pushes that ab under the peck out much more then the one next to it. Kinda odd but I think its going to end up doing the wave effect sorta like jeff's. Hard to tell tho they will look good then get ugly then look even better the next month. Abs are odd. Seems they change and look funky then look killer.

I'm technically disabled being born without part of my arm and pffd. I got my leg amputated when i was 13. Everyday chores, working and working out keeps me ripped. Tip, your gate when you walk is controlled by your core. Having a prosthetic leg really made me focus on this but this applies to everyone. If you work on your core when hiking/walking to control your gate you will show a better core while supporting your back.

I think I structural have an 8 pack, but my top two abs are so puny in comparison to the rest that it doesn't look like an 8 pack. I have the ridge a bit under my belly button but I still have about 10mm of fat covering it up (20mm skinfold.
Well, going to lose another 7 lbs or so, hopefully the bottom set are symmetrical / look good.

I now how to train I just have no f------ self control smh can't put the damn chip bag away I ate supper healthy for about a month lost like 20lbs abs started to show and slowly went back to my old bs because I got tired of eating the same thing chicken, rice, veggies

I have a 6 pack, but a few years ago I think I had 8 visible once, (visible because I was really skinny) but recently I-ve been pretty steady on I-d guess 12% bodyfat. And whenever I try to cut down a bit to maybe 9-8%, then I might have an 8 pack

My stomach is getting flatter and flatter. I'm eating right, going to the gym, walking an hour everyday 3 miles a day. I can feel the bottom line there. Can't wait till they start coming out: ) 8 pack here I come. -

I feel them under my stomach fr. I can feel and see the top 3, but idk if I-m overreacting or trying to make myself feel special but I think if I were to lose lower belly fat you-d be able to see them.

Don't know what mine look like. I'm 25 next week and I have never seen mine hopefully there are 6 or 8 even looking abs hope to find out in a couple of months when I lose the rest of the fat for summer.

I have a question though, if you have a 4 pack a 6 pack or an 8 pack are you able to generate more strength with less or more individual abs, like outside of looks is there a strength difference?
