s easier if you actually know what to focus on, and here-s a hint, your workouts are not it. It-s harder because the commitment required to get the rest of this right, your nutrition, is a much bigger ask. The truth about fat loss is that in order for it to occur maximally you have to get yourself in a hypo caloric state. This means that you have to take in fewer calories than you are burning during a day to create a caloric deficit and start burning fat. While you will burn calories partaking in a cardio or strength training workout, it is often quickly eclipsed by the damage that can be done in even one bad meal choice. Nutrition is and always will be the key to getting lean, not your workouts. That said, while a workout may last 1 hour, it-s what you do in the other 23 hours of the day (away from the gym) that matters most in terms of your ability to get ripped and lose body fat. You can see that the level of commitment is higher and requires more discipline. So how are you to make sure you are successful when trying to lose fat? You have to come to grips with what I call the 3 realities of fat loss. The first is that not all healthy foods are low in calories. Remember, with the goal of losing fat revolving around a need to consume fewer calories, many people make the mistake of moving towards diets of healthy foods to get them there. The problem is, not all healthy foods are the same. If you look at things like olive oil, nuts, avocados, all natural peanut butter or even granola (not so much on the granola but many people think of it as healthy, you will find that while good for you these are certainly not low calorie food options. All of these are considered calorically dense. Even small servings of them are going to pack on the weight if you aren-t careful. Worse, because they are looked at as healthy, people will eat larger portions of these which really starts to pack on the calories and ultimately the fat (even when following a diet. The second reality has to do with the opposite statement. While it is true that not all low calorie foods are healthy, not by a long shot, avoiding those that are lower in calorie because they contain artificial sweeteners, sugar substitutes or benign but synthetic chemicals in the name of purity is likely going to derail your progress long term. Nobody is saying that a lifetime of eating these foods is a good choice. That said, when used in the short term as a bridge from your clearly unhealthy food choices to ultimately the best food choices is a better plan than abstaining all together and winding up remaining overweight or dangerously obese. For example, a diet of whoppers is not healthy, period. If making the swap from this to grilled chicken breast is too severe however for your tastebuds, you will likely fall off the wagon soon after starting and wind up failing in the long run. If instead, you made a gentler move towards a turkey burger with lettuce and ketchup-while it might contain some synthetic chemicals to keep it fresh, you are likely better off over the short transition time eating this if it meant you were actually going to get to the ultimate goal of fresh grilled chicken or another nutritious non-meat protein source if desired. The last reality is the one that levels the playing field for everyone. It is that not all 23 hours are going to look the same from day to day or even from person to person. How you choose your healthy meals over a 23 hour period can change slightly from day to day if you are desiring a cheat meal now and again to keep yourself sane. That said, if your goals for fat loss are less extreme than someone else then your days could look drastically different from theirs. The key is, you need to be aware that your nutrition plan and how you eat is always going to make the most difference when it comes to losing fat. Any diet plan that cannot be followed is not one worth following. If you are looking for a meal plan that will tell you exactly how to eat day by day and meal by meal, no guesswork required, be sure to visit athleanx. com via the link below and

All this talk about artificial flavors and additives is completely unscientific, and bordering on pseudo-science babble. The only difference between an 'artificial' additive and a 'natural' one is that one was made in a lab, or a factory of some sort, and the other was grown 'naturally' in some way. But this distinction is purely an esthetic one. All foods that we consume are made of molecular compounds, and our bodies don't care if these compounds are naturally occurring, synthesized, or totally man made. The only issue that matters is how our body processes the compounds. There are plenty of naturally occurring compounds that are not healthy, or extremely unhealthy for us, like cyanide. There are plenty of man made compounds that don't occur in nature that ARE good for us, or neutral. Synthesized compounds are just copies of naturally occurring compounds that are made in labs. There is no magical 'natural' quality that makes a compound that occurred naturally and one that was synthesized in a lab have any different reaction in any way in our body. They are chemically identical, and the cells in our body don't care whether a plant put the compound together or a process in a lab.
All our food is made of chemicals. That's what food is. We need to stop trying to determine if a food compound is good or bad for us on the basis of whether it's natural or man made or synthesized, and start doing it on a case by case basis, on the grounds of what scientific studies say.

It's funny, I was that guy eating burgers, 2ltrs of soda, pizza, 4 cans of monster, then cookies, chocolate and cakes on top all in the same day for like 20 years. I work in a kitchen, so I'm always on my feet do 10K steps a day, so the weight kinda remained constant
Lockdown happened, kept eating the same shit, weight spiked.
2 months now been drinking water, scrambled egg for breakfast and a multi-vitamin, nothing till 10pm, then 350g of veg, 2 chicken breast (I just change up the seasoning to keep it interesting, then a small pot of fruit.
Started doing lil bits of exercises, like every time I go to the bathroom =10 push ups. Go to the kitchen=10 12kg curls. Over head press 20kg over head press whenever. 6 sets of 10 20KG kettlebell swings a day. also walk to the store every 4 days (burns about 350 calories)
Weight is falling off me. in those 2 months I've lost 28lbs

All cute but the reality is that going low carb will make this much easier. No hunger, no cheat meals or days. I did it for health reasons but I lost 40 pounds of body fat and added 15 pounds of muscle in a little more than two ears. Had to trial and error with macros for a good muscle growth. I am now back tp 10% carbs, 20-30% peotein and 60-70% saturated fat. Yes, I do log my fresh cooked food accurazely to stay in control. I have never esten that well consistently or enjoyed my food more! Learned s lot of good things from you but nutrition I had to go a different way. Maybe because I am 66. Still a few percentage points to 10% bodyfat but I feel really good so I do not need to rush it.

Losing fat isn't hard if you accept that you have to do things you don't want to do, and do things that will make you uncomfortable. If you accept that, you will eventually discover you don't mind doing those things as much, and you are actually looking forward to the things that made you uncomfortable. (Give up unhealthy food, and exercise) You do not have to taste sweet every day, or even every month. Transition to using no sugar, and less and less no-calorie sweeteners. If you are morbidly obese read Dr. Fung's -The Obesity Code. -

I think you're spot on! For me, right now, good is sustainable, great is not. I'm eating good Sunday through Thursday and then being slightly more relaxed on Friday and Saturday. Still sticking to body weight maintenance calories on those days but allowing myself to eat the foods I love.
I also allow myself the odd treat mid week but it has to be earned through a good cardio workout.
My main problem is habitual eating. Driving and eating have been one and the same for me for at least a decade. Tough habit to break.

tbh, keto (no carbs, without hunger) did it, the only diet that worked for me. And it's easy, Just 'no' or not to much carbs (25 - 50gr max a day. I did it even without workout, but eventually you have to workout tho, to get a better result. But that's just me trying 6 months orso before the wedding. 2 months in and it was like a dream. I even recorded a diary to keep myself going and show others my results.

I know people who want to be thin (and are) but who don't exercise, i and I think about it while watching this video. for them, it has to do with how they eat. and for those who don't exercise and don't want to, if you still want to be thin, you are going to have to eat right. physically I am no role model, but jeff is. if it were not for his diet, he would not be even half as lean as he would be at his age.

Steph Curry is #7 all time n 3pt %, his brother Seth Curry is #2 all time and his coach Steve Kerr is #1 all time =P but Curry has taken more than 3 times as many threes as anybody on the top 10. he is the GOAT shooter! lol, but great tips! im tired of being fat and have a fridge full of veggies, it is def easier to work your way from unhealthy choices to healthiER choices to just plain healthy choices

Hey Jeff. I'm curious if you have anything for angled feet. You know how some people walk and their feet are pointed forwards and all their footprints are in a straight line? For some people their feet are pointed outwardly at an angle. An external or internal rotation. It looks like their footprints are forming a V when they walk. Is there a way to fix this through exercising or is it just genetics?

-you can't get there from [soda] to water-
-Step 1: drink water every time your brain wants a drink of soda
-Step 2: don't buy a soda when you're shopping/eating out
-Step 3: repeat Steps 1 and 2 for two weeks
Congratulations, your brain now wants water when it's thirsty and you're making impressive gains to Self Control which will enable you to kick more bad habits later.
