What if I barbell bench press in the 3-5 rep range on one of my upper days (for strength) and flat/incline dumbbell bench press in the 8-12 rep range on my other upper day (for hypertrophy. Won't the two movements performed in different rep ranges compliment each other as it's working the same muscle group? Or do I have to perform one specific movement in both rep ranges? Great vid!

I just started repping out 4 sets of 8 reps of 225. If I want to increase strength by increasing weight and moving to the 3-5 range for a while, how would I integrate that? Do a 3-5 one day and the next time I hit chest, do a 8-12? Or stick with a 3-5 for a month or so? Thanks.

At what point do you switch between the two though? Right now I'm doing starting strength and I just benched 170lbs today adding 2. 5lbs every workout and I'm linearly progressing pretty well. when would you personally switch to a higher rep range? when i stall?

I've always had to use heavy weight for low reps to gain strength and size. I always like to finish my bench workout with a single rep at the heaviest weight possible for me at that time.

You forgot to mention going for quality reps over quantity! Ie just moving the weight vs using correct form and using the right muscles. Very important as well! but good video
