Teen beginners bodybuilding training - overhead press - Buff Dudes Gabby: Shouldnt allow the kid to lift incorrectly. Bar path is wrong and he is holding it away from his face should be as close to the nose as possible. You mentioned about losing power well not driving from the hip joint is bad mistake which is an ohp not a push press. leg drive is push press which you were correct about. Great videos no hate just wanted to point that out dude.

the only exercise that i cannot LOCK OUT my elbow no matter how hard i tried to LOCK it
everytime i push the bahhbell over my head, once it go the top when you need to lock your elbow, my elbow wont lock straight.
anyone has a tips to fix this or has the same problem? i always did warm up never skip it.

I'm forced to use dumbbells when doing this excercize because tilting my head backwards can really hurt my back when lifting heavier weights. Can I have some thoughts on this? I think the only downside is that it forces me to lift 5-10% lighter.

DUDES! I am loving this series. I am 60 years old and have been in the gym most of my life. All ready I have corrected mistakes I have made for 20 years. Keep the lessons coming. Your next series could be old Buff Dudes.

If you get stronger on bench press it helps you get stronger on overhead press and vice versa. I usually hit 135lbs for 6-10 reps now and I started with about 65lbs. Also add some Tricep work

I thought the young lad did ok with what he was been shown, the ohp is a difficult excercise to master, it's easy to over estimate ya lifting ability when trying to go up in wieght

i am confused. that dude is skinnyer then i me, but Brandon made him lift 10kg on each side. plus the heavy bar he lifts much more than me ( about 11kg) should i add More weight?
reply

Usually when I see other people doing this lift at the gym they only lower it to their nose and have a lot more more weight on the bar.

Very nice video - may I also, for the more advanced, suggest a pelvic forward tilt. Helps keep the spine natural and core tight.

Started OHP today and barely made 30 KG. Could do 12 reps x3 with the bar only but struggled really hard with the weights(5+5)
