Elimination diet can help you figure out what foods you should not be eating. Eliminate everything but the essentials (fat's protein's salt's) for at least a month. Add other whole foods (single ingredient foods) back one at a time so you can see what you are sensitive to.
tried eating less of the processed foods didn't work. When your diet is 100% processed foods what qualifies as moderate?
tried keto years ago. Had cravings for things that most people would add sugar to (cooked vegetables, bread, Cheerios) didn't work.
Now eat meat, eggs, seafood, hard cheese, salt, in season raw vegetables or lightly steamed. No longer have cravings for processed foods and find them unpalatable excessively sweet. Have found sensitivities to lots of foods.
Watch out for processed meats sausage is one of the worst.
You will need to up your salt intake at some point. Processed foods have a lot of it. Cramps are good indication you need more salt.

Don't know if anyone will reply cause this isn't new but I have a question on this - if you make a big batch of something, like a soup or chili for example. how do you track that? I know it's not a science or anything but especially with something like soup, it's super hard to gauge how many servings are in my pot. Also, let's say that you made a pot of chili and the recipe says -6 servings- but doesn't say how many cups are in a serving or anything like that. how do you figure out how much to put into your bowl? Honestly this has been something that really used to piss me off when I was trying to track and I know that I just never got it right because of that. It just became super frustrating and I gave up.

OMG OMG OMG! I've been avoiding counting macros/ weighing/ measuring since I started Crossfit in '05. I've gotten VERY CLOSE to my personal best but without counting. I can't get there. K. I'm gonna do it. Thank you for tackling this subject. Coach Glassman - founder of Crossfit, had this same message as you. that you could gather the most fit athletes and the best who pulled ahead of the rest are weighing and measuring their food.

HELP PLS, I'm 55yo and feeling every single pound i gained the past years, appalled and scared at this point. This pandemic has made my personal situation worse. My mind is ready to try tracking as you have suggested. I have never done this. What free app can you recommend for me to try initially? Which one do you use?
reply

What are your macro percentages? I-ve been tracking my food for months and my app does include macros. I-m not doing keto but the way the app requires is not keto. It-s like 34% carbs 50%fat and 15% protein. What are the correct macros?

Change. to make change. Thank you for your message. I hear you, and I know your very presence in my day, today, made all the difference in my long term turn around. My appreciation for you goes beyond these words.

What tracking apps are people using? All the apps I have track calories? I'd love to do it but I'm not sure how. Do you calculate how much chicken or how much protein in the chicken to determine the portion size?
reply

This Video is Garbage. If you know what you are doing you do not need to track macros and weigh your food. You only need to do those things when you have NO clue what you are doing.

It-s so hard tracking macros when u make your own food. For instance, I make my own cereal because I love it. But it-s hard to track that in any of the tracking apps out there

I like to see Cori running. She's so lithe and fit. She's muscular (strong) but slim and light, so her running look so natural. Im ranting her because I cnnot find that video
