I was asked recently what my top advice would be for beginners in fitness or looking to lose weight/focus on health and it really got me reflecting back to what I wish I had know and some of the biggest lesson I learnt during my weight loss journey. So after much time thinking (and narrowing it down to just 3) I thought we could discuss them in a bit more detail!

I think I didn't get it HAS to become a lifestyle. None of this lose 3kgs in a week business as it just comes right back. And taking a little excerpt from the rock. Its those days when you could do no work and no one would know. You turn up anyway and you will only do it if it becomes something you enjoy (enjoy to a point ha) I could sleep in every morning and relax but it's what I do now. I'm up at 4am (usually) in the gym at 5 or a plan there abouts. -Lifestyle- all that plus the other most important thing you mentioned what's your -why? -

Couldn't agree more with your first point. I turned 34 today. Since 16 I have done four further education courses and a degree over 6 years whilst working full time in a high pressure job. I start my dream job Monday coming. but like you say, life is transient and the times where I was willing time to pass so I could finally get where I am now, I was missing out on what mattered in that moment!

I love to treat myself for small goals. Now my goal is getting better vomax, its now 28: D. I dont run normally so its big challenge to me but i like little challenge. It keeps me motivated. I have prize in mind and its new fitness leggings and i need them too because dont have many. Second goal is to increase my weights at gym but that is easier: D

Lucy, I was making great progress on the rings and pull up bar. Then in Novemeber last year I started getting elbow pain (inner elbow) Had to stop for a while but I'm sure that I have repaired now so I will be starting again. Sucks though because, I went from being able to do 5-6 pull ups to now 2: ( I am 101kg though.

This was so encouraging, not harsh! It's taken me a long time to grasp that progress is not linear. You can know it on a level but experiencing it is another beast. Also the advice to just get in there and do it vs planning everything first, that was for me -

I really needed this. Not a lot is happening in my life but I feel things are chaotic due to my neglect of them and I'm overwhelmed. I'm starting very small and most days I don't do anything to further a better way to live but you inspired me greatly. Thank you!

Really helpful video thanks. Definitely too much conflicting information online for weight loss, I don't stick to anything for more than a few days before something else gets my attention. Will try to keep it simple from now on and avoid the confusion -

As always awesome video Lucy
I have been on same IF schedule since 16 for past 8 years and love it
Many people think they'll get results in a month or two from watching all bs so called IG stars instead watching real people like yourself

Lucy, this is so powerful und valuable! Thank you for sharing these truths.
I started my journey about 3 months ago and the road has been bumpy these past days. Now I see clearly what matters and what doesn't matter at all!

Thank you Lucy, simple but true: consistency. How do you keep motivated when the effort you put in seems much greater than the result? Goals sometimes feel unachievable, even if they are realistic, and it's tempting to give up.
