How To Do Push Ups for Beginners I Lucy Lismore Fitness Adrienne: Hi Lucy, thank you for this great content! I have a question: I am able to do a perfect form push up (8/12) with my elbows really close to my body (so I'm focusing on my triceps) but I'm not able to do regular push ups, like I can do couple in a good form. Is that a problem? Because I know the -standard- push up should have the elbows slightly distant from the body with a specific angle, as you show in the video. Also, how can I increase the number of repetitions? It's been a while I've been stuck with my 8/12 push ups without being able to do more. Hope I'll get an answer, every advice is well accepted!

This video is helpful and motivational. I used to compete years ago then stopped because of depression/other issues. Years later I had a baby and have had to recover physically. I feel a connection to these videos because they are so honest and remind me to listen to MY body and not feel inadequate compared to others or even my past self. I am finally able to say that I am working out regularly and it is partially thanks to you that I pushed myself through my mental blocks. Thank you: )

I've just discovered you. I so wish you'd made more videos -- the quality of your content and the way you present it is really exceptional! Perhaps 2020 will be your year for this? I hope so. I could really see you doing for calisthenics what Adriene did/does for yoga. Would you ever consider something like one simple 30-minute lesson per day for a week, for beginners (to repeat until we get better at it? A big ask, I know - THANK YOU for what you'd done so far!

Thank you for this. I have been using my gym's weightloss app to show me how to do these exercises and it doesn't give this much detail. I was convinced I was doing push ups wrong. Now I know I was. This gives me a new goal. I'm hoping to do pull ups one day.
So far I have lost 17lbs since June. I started at 207 lbs, aiming for 132 lbs but more importantly I want to be healthy again, come off a lot of my medication, and feel happy in my skin.

Wow, I'm so glad that I found you. I already started my 30 kg loss journey and your first video was actually very helpful and gave me the patience that I need to continue then I watch the second and it's about push ups! The only exercise that I cannot do. Amazing really, I'm glad i found you. In just 2videos you were helpful to me than all the videos I watched in the past month. Looking forward for your future uploads.

I had decided to do the plank challenge and started last night. I couldn-t get past 45 seconds. I-m soooo out of shape and weak af. I-m also 43 so maybe I-m too old for this type of fitness but it looks like so much fun once you get the hang of it. My goal in life is to get fit so that I can be around for my son (currently 2 years old) for as long as I can for him.

This is such, such great advice! I have been working out for a little over two months now, and not going to lie. I have bad form doing push-ups, I really hurt my back. This video is finally going to help me fix my form and continue my fitness journey! Thank you so much, hope you post more videos soon, especially one on doing pull ups! :)

You're doing such a noble job by helping people stay fit. And for this you're not asking for anything in return. Health is the most valuable thing in the world. Your videos are inspiring me everyday to do better in every work I do. Thankyou so much! - I wish all your dreams come true-

Hope I can do this, I started following you and I am very confident to loose as many kilos as I can. The thing is I have a injured wrist! I cannot at this moment bend it completely, I had the injury around 3-4 years ago, but will start softly and reinforce it and strenghten it.
