I still have to get over the reality that not every one except myself is able to do a push up. I always thought I was just very bad in sports or weak or lazy. So many fitness tips, workout routines or instructors on YT incorporate pushups and it's super frustrating when you are following a workout, getting by just well and suddenly you need to do pushups and fail terribly. Thanks for talking about the reality of it. That it is quite common for not being able to do them right away and that it will take some training. My goal for this year is to finally do one correct one! I gladly will incorporate some of your tips in my workouts. Thank you!

Push-ups are one of my favourite exercises ever. There-s just something so satisfying(at least to me) about being able to go all the way down and come back up smoothly. I do them everyday. A total of 50 push-ups but spilt into sets. The maximum that I can do in one go without stopping is usually 15 but 20 on a good day. Being consistent with this, you will really start to see your body change. I don-t do any other forms of strengthening exercises just push-ups and my cardio daily and I-ve started to see my back, my abs, my chest and obviously my arms become so much more defined. It-s amazing.

I'm pretty new to the whole working out thing. I thought push ups were supposed to be really basic, easy stuff since my PE teacher in elementary school tried to get me to do them. I couldn't do it then, and I still can't do them now. My arms shake just holding myself up in position, let alone moving without landing on my face. It's great to hear that push ups are something to build up to, rather than something I should feel bad for not being able to do off the bat.
I'm finally going to do a push up! I swear on my honor! But maybe in a few months or so.

I have a question for anyone who may have some insight. I have 7 weeks until I need to do 18 push ups in under a minute. This is because I leave for Air Force Basic Training soon. My ship date came on suddenly and I realized I suck at push ups. I cant even do one normally. I can hammer them out against a wall, and I can do some solid incline push ups against the back of the couch and the kitchen counter. Does anyone think it may be possible to learn to do 18 regular push ups in 7 weeks?

I think I'm one of the few women that never struggled doing push ups, the first time I tried I did 10+ in good form and I never did much sports/gym either (I was one of those that took volleyball in school and skipped many clases lol, I was never consistent. So I guess I got good genes. But it makes me happy to know that many women are trying to improve and be strong enough to do them! I wish more women were more focused on being strong rather than pretty -

So I guess I'm in the -it's so frustrating, I'll never be able to do good push-ups, I might as well quit- phase. Currently focusing on push-ups, doing it everyday, 3 sets of normal, 2-3 sets of wider push-ups (hands a bit wider. People might think 5-6 sets is already really nice, but it totals around 40-42 push-ups. yep. Each set is until I just can't anymore, by the way.

A timeline of months to get to a push-up is so much more doable for someone who struggles to do them and ends up hurting my back. Thanks to your first video I-ve been slowly losing weight built over a lifetime. I-m 5 months in and have another 5 months to goal. I think it-s time to work on the exercise component. Thanks for your inspiration.

Hey lucy! Hope you are doing great. My wrist is quite tight. I warm up my wrist for around 7-10minutes before workout. Then in night when i try to do some yoga i find my wrist as tight as it was in the morning. So i have to warm it up again. Can you tell me is this normal? If It's not then what can i do?

That was super helpful! I always get discouraged because in fitness videos they always say -beginners can do push ups on theirs knees- and I feel like the biggest looser because I can't even do that. Thank you so much for explaining.
Do you have tipps how to do planks?

Really loved this video because in all workout online they tell you to go on your knees but my body so weak all the weight and work of the pushup is put on the knee and not on any muscle. Thus, trying to do a knee pushup just hurts my knees. I can only do wall pushup so far.
