Sell your car for free with Carwow: Can an Audi RS7 Performance take down a Ferrari 458 Speciale over the 1/4-mile Well, it’s time to find out! Let’s see how the two compare. Starting with the Ferrari, it’s powered by a 4. 5-litre naturally-aspirated V8 that can produce 605hp and 540Nm of torque. This power is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and it weighs around 1, 395kg. As new in 2015, this car would have set you back around 208, 000. As for the RS7, it’s powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 that can produce 630hp and 850Nm. This power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox, and the car weighs in at 2, 065kg. It’s a fair bit cheaper than the Ferrari, costing around 133, 000. Think it may be an easy win for the RS7 Well, we’ve got another car lined up to go against the Ferrari if it can’t beat the RS7 An all-new Audi S3! This is powered by a 2-litre 4-cylinder turbo that produces 333hp and 420Nm. This sends power to all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and it tips the scales at 1, 610kg. As new, this car only costs 48, 000. So will the Ferrari take down the RS7 Or will it only find success against the S3 There’s only one way to find out LET’S RACE! Thanks to Andy for joining us for this race:

I dont care how fast the Audi is, I think most people will agree that Audi sounds Shit really rubbish sound of RS7. TBH, it also looks like a cab driver estate car, you know the one used for Airport. Audi also lacks of charisma, where as Ferrari has everything the sound, charm, head-turn and ofcourse the feeling that your sitting in something very special. It doesn't matter how many times you win, it's the quality that Ferrari has and true said by the Ferrari driver after losing I'm in Ferrari which presenter really felt it.

The Audi RS7(as is the RS6, RSQ8, Urus and Cayenne Turbo) is fitted with the largest front brakes ever fitted to any production vehicle ever, 450mm Carbon Ceramic brakes with a massive 10-piston caliper, that fitted with 4, 500lbs of weight to increase traction that negates the increase in momentum, thats why the RS7 stopped quicker.

Ferrari driver referring to the Audis by colour. Trying to pretend is too classy to know what they are.
The Audi winning the breaking test is probably due a little bit to weight and wider tyres all around and did it have CC brakes
The Ferrari has CC brakes and they need to be hot before performing.

Now I love Matt, but all of these videos comparing straight line performances between rear wheel driven cars to all wheel driven cars, especially when it got turbos, what’s the point Why don’t we just put a cheap Chinese electric car in those cases and see who’s fastest in a straight line

I remember the speciale being out braked by the 991. 1 gt3 when they were both new. They stated the fromt tires on the ferrari were too narrow impacting braking and creating undesirable understeer on turn in and snappy oversteer on throttle

It's actually an intriguing answer as to why the Audi won the brake test. With the weight of the Audi being just over approximately 30% more factoring in the power to weight ratio, the momentum -30 < Mat hit the brakes earlier.

what about if it was a 2 mile long race Would the 458 speciale catch up and pass the RS-7 Its so much lighter. also the Speciale needs a big aftermarket twin turbo/exhaust/headers/downpipes/cooling upgrade asap.

I'll take the cheapest Ferrari over the dearest audi everyday of the week! There's a hell of a lot more to a car like that than going fast in a straight line!
reply

That 458 Ferrari seems anemic, like a senior citizen who has been keeping fit, but ultimately loses to a young bloke which has more power in the legs.

In my opinion German car have the best brakes in the world cars and the worse brake cars are American cars after Korean cars after Japanese cars
reply

Numbers, numbers, numbers. destroyed car industry last 2 decade. You can't tell me that driving audi is even close to feeling driving any of ferrari.
reply

I think, (could be wrong) that the braking difference is that the Audi has an 8 pot caliper vs a six pot caliper up front on the speciale.
reply

The Audi fvckboys will this it, hats off to them for driving the most boring cars all year round in the hope of having a drag race with a Ferrari
reply

Please stop with your Audi infatuation since you bought one. It's getting annoying. They're the garbage of Germany behind M-Benz and BMW.
reply

one is a true, thoroughbred sports car, the other is an overtuned sedan. Drag races are for kids. Go around and track and see what is what.
reply

The audi braked better mainly due to its computer software and abs its much sharper on todays sports cars then those 10 or so years ago

Pause this video at 15 seconds and see which car Matt picks does he chose fastest (mostly) or does he get beat
