Heres Why I Cant Fix This Mercedes michael: Boy, I knew this video would bring out the Benz Bashers I have an 05 MB SL500. same engine that's in that car. I had a slight seep from the left side rocker cover, and that's it Retorqued all to spec, cleaned it up, and good to go Been about 3 years now and about 3500-4000 miles; still dry. Condition and use will determine how long a car will remain dependable, this car looks uncared for. Plus, it's a V-8 and folks tend to explore the power of it. Some sensible exercise, along will a solid maintenance schedule, keeps these powerful and smooth engines high and tight. These cars were MEANT to be DRIVEN. But NOT ripped like an old Chevy Not many cars will take that kind of abuse, no matter the brand Back me up a little, Scotty I love my roadster, hiway cruisin' with the top down, hearing my girl's V-8 snarling a bit off the pipes, oh baby, gimme Mercedes for the win

I think the laws on buying catalytic converters vary from state to state. Here in South Carolina, to sell non ferrous metals to a scrap yard, such as aluminum and catalytic converters, you have to get a non ferrous scrap metal permit from the sheriff Dept in the county you live in. They record whether youre just a private individual or a business owner, etc. Each time you go to the scrap metal yard, you have to show that permit. If youre just an individual bringing in a lot of catalytic converters and theres been thefts, the sheriff Dept looks into it.

I remember when people where stealing cats from all the cars. My street got hit hard, they took all the catylitic converters from every car, or truck on my street, all but my own pickup had the exhaust cut off. The only reason my truck didn't get hit, was that I didn't have any cats, so I end up laughing my rear end off every time I think of the people climbing under my truck, and cursing up a storm, cause there aren't any cats to take off of my exhaust.

Seriously A head gasket? Did you confirm that with a combustion gas test? Failed head gaskets dont usually show up as oil leaks. Do you mean a leaky VALVE cover gasket? Seriously, Scotty, its time for you to stop all your hate for European cars (and American cars and Asian cars and French cars and Italian cars and Mexican cars and cars with four wheels and cars with engines. Its time for you to quit. Time to retire.

Hey Scotty, try more like 5000 to replace the catalytic converter on a Prius mine happen to go bad and the dealer wanted 5000 to replace the catalytic converter in labor so 2500 wouldve been a steel in my opinion but Im just gonna let it go because the gas mileage is good and its not acting like the catalytic converter is clogged up

just a tip based on recent events, if your car cranks but doesnt start, before you go put in a new distributor, try using a spare key. my 2000 accord key died on me and it was the last thing i would have thought to check. the oldest part of my ignition system is the spark plugs now smh

I notice a lot of your customers car have leaves and crap under the hood by the windshield. They need to clean the stuff out. It'll plug up the fender drains and cause rust. Along with making their HAVC systems stinky.

I work on commercial jets. Our aircraft uses BP turbine oil. It has phosphorus. Using a UV light, the oil shows up bright purple. The older the leak, the dimmer the glow. Something we have done for decades.
